Participants needed for ARFID research
Hello all, my name is Louise and I am a Postgraduate student at De Montfort University in Leicester, U.K.
I am currently undertaking research with full ethical approval which is investigating and exploring how social network support groups impact on subjective wellbeing (including happiness, resilience, optimism and hope) during the journey of diagnosis for adults with ARFID. This is a topic that interests me for personal reasons as my youngest son has undiagnosed sensory eating issues and I am aiming to uncover the true experience of people who have undergone this journey since it was added to the DSM-V in 2013.
Inclusion criteria:
MUST be diagnosed with ARFID (and be willing to sign a statement confirming this)
CAN be diagnosed with EDNOS
MUST be age 18 years or over
BE WILLING to be interviewed over Skype or a telephone call (for 45 minutes-1 hour) or Face-to-face if you are in the UK and can get to De Montfort University!
Exclusion criteria:
Must NOT be concurrently diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa
There is no monetary payment for taking part, it would be purely for research purposes with the aim to get your voice and experience heard J
If you are interested in taking part in this study, please send me a message or reply to this post and I can provide you with more information.
Many thanks for taking the time to read
