Why is it always about Orpheus turning back foolishly and never about Eurydice following him out of the Underworld, likely knowing she was doomed. That Orpheus went all this way, singing the story of their love, hopeful that he will return her to the surface and finally build their life together— but they will not. She knows her Orpheus will turn back. And yet she still follows him, all the way to the top, because the simple pleasure of seeing his back again is enough for her. Isn’t that a foolish thing to do for love?
"If I were orpheus I wouldn't look back"
But we look back everyday- rechecking emails, making sure a friend is still behind you, checking to see if you remebered to pick up your keys. It's second nature, a habit of care.
It was second nature for him too. He looked back, not out of weakness, but love. For what is love, if not to look back?
what they don't tell you about hadestown is that orpheus and eurydice are not the main characters. neither are persephone and hades. or hermes. or the fates. the main character is whoever in the band is playing the trombone because holy fuck
*sends out email I've been putting off* ah finally :). ah that's a weight off my shoulders :). ah I can relax an-- *receives response to email* what the fuck. what the fuck. what the fuckkkk

Finally listening to the full audio for The Magician's Elephant musical, and Jack Wolfe sounds so delightfully northern in it, god BLESS.

scrolling through the jack wolfe tag on tumblr every morning over breakfast like it's the paper.
I am doing this right now
i find the gabe parts of superboy and the invisible girl so interesting. the most common interpretation of him stealing the melody is natalie being overshadowed and that he pushes her out of her own song. that he’s taunting her and addressing all her insecurities and validating them, but one interpretation that i think about a lot is that by stealing the melody he’s trying to get diana to hear and see natalie’s struggles, because he’s the only way she’ll listen to them. diana only truly notices natalie when gabe starts to sing with her, and i think this comes off especially in the 2024 west end production, because i feel like jack wolfe’s gabe is played in a way where he wants to be a part of the family, but there’s no way he can make it happen.
i need a lego psych movie it would cure my mental issues i think

I know I don't shut up about this but frankly not enough people are angry about the 5-day/40 hour workweek (and I am AWARE a lot of people work even more than that). I feel like a lot more people should be absolutely furious that we only really have two days a week and some occasional hours in the evening to socialise, run errands, do chores, or relax.
It's no wonder so many people are profoundly lonely and disconnected from their communities when maintaining a social life in what little free time we have is incredibly difficult. If you have kids, a second job, a very long commute, or other responsibilities, it's nearly impossible.
We literally aren't meant to live like this and I'll never stop being shocked how many people just take it as the natural state of things and don't want to throw a brick through a billionaire's window every time they think of it.
Just saw this stock imagine, completely thought it was Dan Goodman
