I love Blake so much cause like her character flaws make sooooo much sense because one of her biggest is her methods of self destruction but the REASON that it’s like that is that one of her biggest character traits is her morality and integrity and DEDICATION to doing whatever she thinks is objectively the most morally correct thing at the moment

Like it’s actually a PROBLEM for her, literally not even five minutes into trying to be mysterious and sneaky and not revealing herself as a Faunus or (ex)member of the white fang and just in general stay under the radar she IMMEDIATELY jumps to some totally random girls defense to call out the HEIRESS TO THE SCHNEE DUST COMPANY HERSELF

And SPECIFICALLY calling out the Schnee dust company not just being like “don’t yell at that clearly younger then us girl” no she fully was like “fuck you, you and your entire family are facists” because calling out the Schnee dust company is the right thing to do even if it’s super NOT UNDER THE RADAR AT ALL YOU HAVENT EVEN BEEN AT THE SCHOOL FOR FIVE MINUTES!!!!

It’s also what gets her outed as a ex white fang member because even if it’d be safer for her to not say anything she literally just CANT stand by and let something be unfairly defamed and she can’t stand by when hearing fuck ass anti Faunus rhetoric even if it could get her soooo arrested

And then her relationship with Adam and the way that whole experience effected her made her get the idea that her allowing herself to be loved or to choose to love someone or even to relax and rest is like actually morally wrong

She wants her friends to hate her when she runs because she thinks that’s what she deserves and she especially did it in a way that yang would hopefully hate her for because yang hating her is what she deserves for having the GALL to love her or let herself get close to her or not believing her when she said she didn’t hurt mercury on purpose any NUMBER of things

And before she reconciled with her parents and started to really recover from her relationship with Adam she really didn’t grasp how harmful this was for the people she was doing it to because she was just trying to do the right thing for everyone and cut herself out like a cancer

But then yang was without an arm and without people to help her through some of the hardest times of her life

But I LOVEEEEEE them and I LOVEEEEE Blake and I want more of talking about this and it’s just hehehhehehehbebannsb

I'm honestly glad I kept this illustration on my Boosty for a while – after editing it, I can finally say I love it. I’ve updated the original Boosty post, where you can now find the full-size illustration in both the old and new versions ;) In my head, this scene takes place after Blake revealed she was a faunus. Even though she was accepted, she still felt a bit distant. That's why the girls decided to gift her a sweater with "RWBY", to emphasize that she is an equal member of the team, and a dear friend. Each girl sewed her own letter onto the sweater (and I think that "B" was sewed by Yang, since she's her partner). But who made the cake? It's open to interpretation. Maybe team JNPR?
