I don’t want to wake up. I am having a much better time asleep. And that’s really sad. It is almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare you’re so relieved. I wake up into a nightmare, every fucking day.

I hate the person I turn into when I fall for someone. I hate how I’m willing to to do anything and everything to keep that person in my life. I hate how I am careful with my words because I don’t want to hurt him even though the wounds from his poisonous words have not even begun to heal. The bad behavior I tolerate, the excuses I make for him, the crap I put up with. The uncountable chances I give him but somehow I can’t grant myself the same kindness. If I make a mistake? It’s only fair that he leaves me. I fucked it up. The constant overthinking, the relentless fear of being ignored or ghosted and all the self blame. It’s like I abandon me.
It’s exhausting when I don’t even have me in my corner.

Alright, this ones for yall non-sex working ladies (and occasionally nonbinary people too)
I honestly wish yall would quit coming in to strip clubs, full stop.
So Im gonna explain why.
So first thing is that a lot of you dont know how to act, so you end up imitating the men around you, meaning that yall touch us without consent, ask inappropriate questions etc and basically treat us like shit. And honestly, it hurts a little more than when men do it bc you would *think* yall know better, and you do, but you dont care. Thats upsetting.
Then theres the groups of you that go to prove how “totally ok and cool” with this you are to your husbands/bfs/dudebro you wanna fuck/what the fuck ever but you get insecure and lash out at us.
But like its obvious why this is shitty so I wanna talk more about “the good ones”.
Yall are becoming more common, even though youre still kinda rare. You come in large groups with all ladies. Sometimes you even tip/get dances. On the surface youre not annoying. The problem is that once youre there, the men arent as interested in strippers anymore. They wanna watch *you*. They wanna talk to *you*. Because men always want what they cant have. So you become the focus.
Theres always guys that come in just for the bartenders/waitresses, but now that more and more ladies are coming in to the clubs to ~chill~ thats more distractions for these fucks that we have to convince to pay us for something they feel entitled to for free. Even on your best behavior, by being here, yall are taking away from us. Youre turning strip clubs in to bars. That doesnt benefit us. And what do you get out of it? The drinks and cover are jacked all the way up, men are on their worst behavior so why? For cool points?
The more mainstream this job becomes, ironically, the more dangerous it becomes for us. Hypervisibility can look progressive and helpful at first glance (as a tpoc Im hyper aware of this concept), however when done poorly it does more harm than good. More civillians in the club means our job becomes more of a pain in the ass and in a time when clubs are being sued for mistreatment, more laws and regulations are getting passed, and generally more swerf rhetoric is circulating through the mainstream, adding yet another layer of annoyance/bullshit for us to navigate is just fucked.
If you wanna support sex workers, donate to sex workers directly. Fight for decriminlization (not legalization), listen to swers, etc. Yall dont have to come in to the club to get your ally cookie.
Also notes on what I mean about hyper-visibility:
Obviously theres the way pole has been completely sanitized of all sex work associations and is essientially the new yoga. This took one of the most unique elements of the club and made it so public that now its not considered anything. Why see strippers do pole when you can jack it to instagram influencers and mommys doing it for the ~~~~empowerment~~~~?
Then theres the popularization of pleasers and sw aesthetic. Bc we gotta always be one step ahead of yall, we gotta do more than what you do. Which, when looking like us was the worst thing ever was feasible but now that yall wanna contour to the heavens, get lash extensions, wear pleasers clubbing, have 8 inch nails etc, its becoming a race to the bottom.
Of course, theres also the prevailing narrative of “I come from a wealthy background, have 10 phds, and I chose to do sex work because I love it! This job makes me feel alive! Sex workers are not disabled, queer, low income etc. Nope. We’re all harvard grads whos true calling in life is performing male fantasies!” And ugh this narrative obviously throws all survival sex workers completely under the bus.
So how has any of this “visibility” helped us? What improvements have the most marginalized in our community experienced from this?
*obligatory reminder that I block swerfs on sight*
Reblogging to say that low income sex workers are welcome to add their go fund me’s, PayPal’s, preferred form of donation to this post so that we can get you visibility and the more privileged among us can donate ie if you want to go to the strip club because you support strippers and sex workers rights ACTUALLY you should donate the cover, drink, and lapdance money because we shouldn’t have to perform for your support, also ie if you’re a rich bitch gentrifying the strip clubs with your PhDs and your magma cum laude from Columbia while simultaneously chasing “pussy empowerment” you are also welcome to donate the money you’re taking from low income and working class strippers
I’ve been saying for years that i miss the dark times when stripping was taboo

““The emotion that can break your heart is sometimes the very one that heals it…””
— Nicholas Sparks, At First Sight (via hplyrikz)
Years ago I was writing about someone else. I thought he was my soulmate. A part of me still loves him, but I barely think about him.
Now I write about you. As obsessed as before, as in love as before. I imagine you being my soulmate.
Years from now I will write about someone else. You are going to be a blurry memory.
I will write the pain away until someone gives me another feeling to share.
Passion, lust, danger and hope. I will give it all up for a sincere laugh, an innocent stare or a faitful touch.
And one day, I will give it all up. I will give you up. Like the one before you.
But until someone makes me feel…
Hedonist Poet
“6 months after our breakup, she messaged me. She said, “I know these winter days get you down, and they make you feel cold. Just remember that loving you, and being loved by you, will always be the warmest feeling I’ll ever have.””
— //“I didn’t have the words to respond. Maybe I still couldn’t. So I just left her there, again, like I’ve always done. And she stuck around, like she has always done, for nothing.”
Clear your mind here
you are going to feel so much love and devotion it’s going to scare you. you aren’t used to being the object of so much tenderness; and maybe you don’t even think you deserve it. but you do. you know you do. embrace it with open arms and let it wash over you.
“Am I betraying myself when I say that I’m lonely? Is being with myself not enough when I crave you remotely?”
