If Marvel movies were written by women

-Peggy Carter’s funeral would have been more than 3 minutes long.

-Tony Stark would have given a eulogy to Peggy, having grown up admiring her, his dad’s colleague of many years, a tremendously strong female role model (the woman who approved Pepper’s hire, of course).

-Steve Rogers would not have put the moves on Peggy’s niece within a day of burying Peggy.

-Black Widow would have gotten her own movie by now.

-A big part of Bucky’s backstory/flashbacks would have been told through Natasha’s viewpoint, her memories of either working with or against The Winter Soldier in Russia and the East. 

-Pepper Potts would have been in Civil War, speaking for herself.

-Wanda’s grief over her brother would still be very present.  Her feelings of loss and mourning would be front-and-center for her character.

-Black Panther’s woman bodyguard would have had more than one line. 

-Natasha would have told Steve that she was at Peggy’s funeral in part because she didn’t want him to be alone, but also in part to pay respects to the great Peggy Carter.

-There would be way more women in these movies.  There would be women of many ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and nationalities in these movies.  There would be many scenes of women talking to women.  There would be many more scenes of women talking.  And doing.  And feeling.  And being.

The First Avenger (ish), Peggy-related headcanons

Phillips fought for Peggy to be given a promotion, when they continued to refuse and he continued to insist, they said she could be supervisor at his unit if he’d keep being a pain in the ass about it. They meant it as a threat, as though Peggy would be a burden, but Phillips just straightened himself out and said “Nice doing business with you, gentleman”

Peggy was technically part of the Howling Commandos but since she was previously a spy and code-breaker in addition to being a soldier, her name was omitted from all the missions they performed together and, of course, the press

Phillips took Peggy with him everywhere he went. He didn’t consciously mean for her to become his legacy, but when he retired and left SHIELD in her hands he knew there was no better choice.

Peggy actually hates fondue and Howard keeps inviting her out to eat it just to spite her

Peggy was supposed to be Tony’s godmother, but she got held up the day of the christening and Maria’s sister ended up baptizing him instead

Steve and Bucky holed up in their room to craft mission plans, then passed them to the howlies who gave their suggestions, and their final test before presenting it to Phillips was giving them to Peggy, so she could poke holes in their logic

Dugan cropped out that newspaper picture of Peggy and taped it to Steve’s shield, his rooms, tents and sometimes his back until all the howlies were grabbing it out of it’s current location and placing it somehwere else for Steve to find and blush. Phillips told them to quit it, but Steve asked for the picture, which he put inside his compass

Peggy went on quite a few missions with the Howlies, but most often her field work was only with Steve and one or two other agents

Hodge was the 17th guy Peggy punched for disrespecting her since she’d become head of the division

Her technique to gain respect is the unfailing moment when she’s training the recruits and one of them doubts she can do as many push ups as she makes them do in training. Her hundred and seven one arm record shuts them up quick

Peggy took an early interest in project rebirth, and for a brief time Erskine considered her for the serum, but the politics of it would’ve been impossible and he dropped the idea without ever telling anyone but his research diaries. Those diaries became scattered, destroyed and mostly burned, but Nat finds the page with that particular information and gives it to Steve
