People too often forget that Aphrodite is more than just the embodiment of love, she can get deeply angry and hate just like any other deity. To love everyone wouldn't be love at all, you cannot love the opressor without betraying the oppressed. And not to mention that she is a war goddess with her fair share of bloodlust- Aphrodite is no pure sweet maiden but a passionate femme fatale with a soft side.

Unpopular Opinion: Aphrodite Can Be Anything. At any time. To anyone.

Because beauty isn’t limited to one perspective. It certainly isn’t limited by any mortal eye or mind.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Beauty morphs and manifests in every way imaginable.

And so Aphrodite is trans. Aphrodite is a lesbian. Aphrodite is gay. Aphrodite is bisexual and Aphrodite is even found in asexual platonic relationships because friendship is also a thing of beauty. Aphrodite is black. Aphrodite is Asian. Aphrodite is Mexican and Syrian and Australian and Norwegian.

And Aphrodite is Greek.

But the core of Aphrodite is beauty and love which, at it’s core, holds no one face. But all faces and all body types and all genders and all ethnicities and all sexual identifications.

I only ever see her as a white, brunette and with peridot-ish green eyes, but my experiences only apply to me and only me.

I've always seen Aphrodite differently depending on the circumstances.

When I was feeling young puppy love and wanted to share that with her, she was young and fair skinned and hair the color of copper. When I had to try my hardest to love myself, she was tall and curvy, brown curls down her back, a fight in her eyes. When I just wanted to talk, wanted to check in, she looked older, wiser, a beauty mark above her lip. I like to think it's her epithets.

Aphrodite never changed right in front of my eyes, but she looks a little different everytime I see her. I can still tell it's her though, just a gut feeling.
