hey all, i want to apologise for going so so mia, I've been incredibly busy with work and life, but I'll be on tonight and its Christmas break very soon so I'm hoping to get on top of things then, too. my one true hope is to have a beautiful few plots that we can develop deeply and that will ruin my life in the best ways - preferably older ships that we can flashback with because nothing is more fun.

rory crinkles his nose at the cigarette butt and steps over to crush it out excessively with the toe of his shoe. "nasty habit." the brit says, folding his arms across his chest. "leg breaking? heavens no, it's not that serious." though he's brought to grinning at the thought that uziah would go to such lengths for him. "there's just... a belligerent drunk who doesn't realize he's overstayed his welcome, and i'm far too nice to push him out the door."

"plenty say the same about me, mate." he snorts, waggling his brows playfully. he didn't have many friends, but he could say without a question of doubt that rory was one of his. he was like another brother, even if they were world's apart in a lot of ways. "ah, alright." he murmurs casually, hardly fazed by the notion of having to break legs for his friend. "...ah, i see i see..." he nods his head, common as mud and contemplating their current options. "you sure you don't want me breakin' 'is legs? 'cause like - i reckon he'd get the hint then, y'know?" a shrug, indifferent to a fault, "if not i can have a word, 'f you'd like me to?"

harvey's not sure he even believes it, honestly, it just felt like there was always a problem with them. "i just, i don't know. we always seem to have some sort of issue."

"so what's your solution then? getting rid of me?" otis is aware that harvey is not wrong, they often have their issues - but he does think that there's a solution to their woes, there has to be. "don't you think there's gotta be a better way?" he's hopeful, heart aching in his chest over the slight notion that harvey would opt to tear them apart over putting in any word to combat their usses. "you don't think we're worth...more?"

"well, i hadn't really thought that far ahead..." leander confesses. he had expected to be dismissed for his poor treatment of link, but this was a decidedly better turn of events. offering the other man a winning smile, he slides in closer, presses his thigh to link's. "any special requests? it is you i'm trying to appease, after all..."

lincoln had never seen the point in holding onto grudges, if what leander had done was bad enough, he'd still have opted to forgive and forget, yet ultimately put a permanent wedge between the pair of them. he wasn't convinced that what he'd done was that severe though, so he intends on having a little fun with it; pearly whites displayed, proving that very fact. "you could put on a little show for me, i suppose. sing a little song, dance a little dance." the words fall teasingly so, nose scrunching as he reaches to squeeze at his thigh. "or a nice cup of coffee might suffice..."

"delusional you say..." a brow cocks, as he decidedly steps closer to her, oceanic hues stormier now, lips pursed, giving nothing away as cold-faced as ever. "you mean to tell me that my staff are lying to me? now what the hell would they gain from that?"

suddenly, forrest is overwhelmed with a sense of relief, and he exhales a breath he hadn't known he'd been holding; it's exhale sounding almost like an airy laugh as he flips his hand over and squeezes nathan's. they're making eye contact, and forrest is doing his damnedest to relay what he can't say in words through some form of telepathy he knows doesn't really exist. he's grateful to have nathan, a lesser man would've given up on forrest by now. "thank you." he says, and he leans in to press his lips just gently to the corner of the older man's. "i know i'm too old for this shit... but it means everything to me. you mean everything to me. i don't want to lose this."

"you're not going to lose this, not unless you end up wanting to." though nate hopes that doesn't ever occur. he had suspected a long while ago, that a chance at real, raw happiness in the shape of a relationship was unlikely if not impossible. forrest had reignited a hope that he'd convinced himself that had been long since blown out. there were no expectations, nothing more that the other man had to do to have nate become a part of his life, whenever and wherever he wanted him to be. "never too old, you feel how you feel. life can be shit, put all these thoughts into your head, i don't blame you and i'll never hold it against you. however you want me, you've got me. no exceptions." he smiles fondly, giving his hand a gentle, subtle squeeze. "whatever happens, you've got me. even if the whole world is convinced we're just friends, you've got me."

as naive as it might've been for him to believe, he was convinced that they were meant to be together. that she understood him in ways nobody else ever could and vice versa. never in his life had he believed that he'd fall for a taken woman, yet so soon after meeting kara, he'd known there wasn't much he wouldn't do for her. he wanted her; mind, body and soul and he could be patient, at least he was trying to be. a scoff, lighthearted, so free of genuine fight. he wouldn't fight her, didn't want her to go back into the arms of her husband with venom for him in her heart. his gaze is stuck on her, mesmerised by every slight touch and action. she's a goddess and he knows he should be grateful for what he gets, but he can't help being selfish and greedy needing more and more and more. "are you going to fuck him?" it's spoken through a harsh breath, even as he tries to act confident, indifferent and relaxed. his heart hammers so violently against his ribcage it nearly burns and he doesn't know what he wants to hear, jealousy rushing through him, causing a tidal wave within his abdomen.
