Tell me your favorite AoT characters and why!
Hange Zƶe: Hange is not only one of my favorite AoT characters but also one of my favorite characters in all media. I find that I see myself in them, and I often feel inspired by them. Their drive and passion for research are something I strive to achieve for myself. My passion is psychology and science in general, especially the medical field. I hope to one day research disorders on the dissociative spectrum. Disorders on this spectrum are heavily stigmatized and not even believed to be real by some medical professionals. They also have very little research and knowledge compared to other disorders. I feel inspired by Hanges' love for the unknown and their willingness to explore it despite the sacrifices that be made. The titans were the primary threat in seasons 1-3, and despite this, Hange still risked their life multiple times for the sake of uncovering the truth of the titans and pushing humanity forward. In many ways, I feel they parallel Erwin because of this. Hange is a character of whom we have very little backstory for, I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but because of this, I think that Hange is supposed to serve as a symbol of progression and moving forward. While many characters can fit into this criteria, I feel it fits. Hange extra well. Hange is often seen looking forward, and for the next clue in the big picture of the titans and the overall world of AoT, there is little time to look back, and I feel Hanges ambiguous past reinforces this. I also love Hanges character development, Early in the series, Hange is portrayed as quirky and lighthearted, fascinated by the mystery of titans to the point of social awkwardness. However, as the story darkens and the cost of war becomes more personal, Hange matures into a figure of great responsibility and moral strength.
Levi Ackerman: Levi is another character who is one of my favorites in all of media. I feel Levi stands out as a compelling and well-developed character due to the complexity of his morals and the depth of his personal trauma. Initially portrayed as a stoic, brutal soldier with unmatched combat skill, Leviās character slowly unfolds to reveal layers of vulnerability, compassion, and principled leadership. Despite his cold demeanor, he deeply values human life, often carrying the emotional burden of those he could not save. His strict moral code, rooted in pragmatism, loyalty, and justice, guides his decisions, even when they come at a personal cost. Leviās upbringing in the slums and the loss of close comrades like Furlan, Isabel, and later his squad, forge a man who knows pain intimately but chooses not to be ruled by it. He grows from a lone survivalist into someone who trusts and fights for a cause larger than himself. I plan on making a post going into how I feel the deaths of Isabel and Furlan and Levi's squad parallel each other in the way Levi might have reacted to it, especially in the sense of blaming himself
Something less focused on the show, but Hange and Levi are spitting images of my bf and I >:3 I don't know if that's silly to say, but from the looks to the personalities I feel they're extremely similar and something I noticed around a year into me and I bf dating (we've been dating for 2 years now!) My nose is slightly smaller than Hanges but we're ignoring that hehe. I'll post a cosplay if I end up doing one!
There's still so much more I want to say, but that's the basics. If I say everything, this post will exceed tumblrs word limit if there even is one lolol
