“But also I say this: that light is an invitation to happiness, and that happiness, when it’s done right, is a kind of holiness, palpable and redemptive.”

so often a woman’s patience is expected and demanded and absolutely taken for granted. be patient in public, with children, with your husband, with being talked over, with being talked down to, with the constant catcalling, with the boys in the class, with the slow change that we are promised will come, with raising the “next generation right” because we’ve given up on all present ones, with everything from subtle harassment to all-out assault. we are reminded patience is a virtue, and it comes first.
i’ve been noticing it a lot more recently. it looks a lot like silence, that’s all.
“Fall in love with someone who’s comfortable with your silence. Find someone who doesn’t need your words to know it’s time to kiss you.”
— Clairabelle Ann
life : it ain’t happening any time soon hoe
“People don’t have to see the sunlight in your heart for them to fall in love with you. Bring them coffee, forehead kisses, and hugs and let them love freely. You cannot force anyone to have feelings for you just as you cannot force yourself to have feelings for anyone. Love should always make you feel like flying even if you’re already in the state of falling.”
— Juansen Dizon, Love Freely
“‘Love’ is so much bigger than let’s spend our lives together; it is also let’s spend this moment together.”
— Guante, from A Love Song, A Death Rattle, A Battle Cry

“We are only here today not because what does not kill us makes us stronger, but because what does not kill us does not kill us.”
— Sam Sax, “Miracles"
The more you hold onto anything, the more you enforce the illusion of separateness.
“Stories never really end…even if the books like to pretend they do. Stories always go on. They don’t end on the last page, any more than they begin on the first page.” ― Cornelia Funke
I hope the universe blesses you with a moment of peace this week. You’re doing the right thing, and you’re going to be okay.
“I love that sweet smell of decay that surrounds me in forests and woods. A kind of mulchy, deep, rich rot that has no connotation of death or ending, but rather of life and age. A sense of perpetual destruction and rebirth.”
