Omg its crazy how much floor space that camera covers 😭
18 points and 14 comments so far on reddit
Omg the first couple clips you can just see LP following random shoppers. They must be so fucking bored.
“Lifters will target high price, easy to steal items that they can resell at flea markets, or trade for crack cocaine.”
-Grocery store training videos

you have lifted so far / the thing you are the most grateful to have been able to lift.
Mine has got to be bras and underwear. It’s something of a luxury to have a pair for every day of the week, and they all fit and they are all comfortable. I used to only have 2 bras from Primark that didn’t even fit properly because I couldn’t afford any others. Now I have bras that fit and enough so I don’t have to wear dirty ones for a whole week. Note: bras in my size are expensive. I’m a 34DDD at Victoria’s secret so that kinda gives you an idea of why I struggled with it
Honestly everything. Most people lifted hundreds of dollars in makeup pallets which is great but honestly I like lifting groceries, clothes for me and my boyfriend, stuff for my dogs. I do this so that the money I do make from working is all put towards bills and savings :)
Reminder to Lifters
Lifting Hauls on tumblr with 50 eyeshadow palettes is a fad. It’s a one time picture that makes some people jealous. Big flashy palettes, MK and LV bags are huge flashy things YOU DO NOT NEED.
Remember that you shoplift for yourself. Shoplifting is illegal and looked down on in society, and you do it for yourself. You should only lift things that make you happy, not what will make people jealous of you.
Always go at your own speed. If you want to lift only one lip gloss or one nail polish, that is totally fine. You don’t need 100 nail polish, a closet to rival Kim K’s, every Tarte eyeshadow palette. Lifting is your little secret that you do because you love yourself.
Don’t let yourself get lost.
Anyone else lift because they grew up living frugal but not poor?
My parents are the most boring people in the world. All they care about is saving money. Investing in stocks. Thinking of business ideas so they can make more money. To give you a better picture, when Pokémon GO came out, my dad said, “I don’t get the point of Pokémon GO. Can you sell your Pokémon??” I grew up wearing clothes from the thrift store, and even then my parents never bought thrifted items at full price - we only shopped on sale days. And we aren’t even poor. My mom is the only source of income for this family but she has a good job.
So as a result, I became this cheap stingy person. I was that type of person to always take (not literally) from my friends and never give. As in, I’d always expect them to pay for me and when I paid for them I’d expect them to pay me back. I know right, yikes. And my friends called me out for being stingy. It was so embarrassing but saving money was like a mental illness for me. For example if the cashier made a mistake I always had to let them know because I couldn’t bear the thought of wasting two extra dollars.
When I started lifting I didn’t have to be frugal anymore. I can spoil my friends at restaurants since I have more disposable income. I can finally get them the presents they deserve instead of picking up a sale item at F0rever 21 and ripping off the marked down price tag. The financial freedom is unreal. I no longer have to feel stress about saving money. Anyway, thanks for reading.
I can relate! Perhaps not to the same degree but I’ve always been a very frugal person.
my mom would literally buy designer shit and expensive makeup for herself but not food, toiletries or skincare supplies for her children and she would literally only buy us these things if we were on our ‘best behavior’ like we’d deadass go two weeks without fresh food because one of us either got a C on their report card or said the word ‘fuck’ around her fundamentalist Christian ass that’s so triggered by swear words despite swearing herself
so yeah I can relate to this post, I grew up frugal but it was goddamn involuntary lmfaooo
Why I don’t fuck with target
you guys, holy fuck. watch this.
I wonder if they’re even actually saving money through that system like holy shit it looks expensive af a whole ass building and lab fully staffed just to deal with shoplifting that’s gotta be a couple million.
i’m so pissed, went into ulta to grab some bangin palleted and they were tagged with those tags that have the cams on em wtf
wait whAt
they’re not cameras—just light sensors. if you put them somewhere dark like a purse, they go off
thanks i was so shook + pissed. do u know how to get them off? like do they beep if you just pull em off?
ahhhh yeah I don’t think we’ve really come up with a way to get them off tbh,, I’ve never tried to take one off, but there’s some kind of special tool the SAs use for it so I imagine they’re stuck on there pretty good. no idea if they’re screamers, though
THEY ARE SCREAMERS!!! If you move them too much (which you obviously will have to do if you are trying to take it off) they start to beep even more!
Are those the big ass cube ones? Like they’re almost bigger than those fidget cubes you can get. Don’t they also have some sort of weight sensor? I pulled a palette out of a box with one of those on it (I was a foot away from an sa and this wasn’t one of those lifting trips, I was doing genuine shopping with a friend) to check the shadow and make sure it wasn’t cracked, and it immediately started beeping at me and didn’t stop until I put it back in the box
they detect changes in motion and light, I reblogged a video about them somewhere in that thread, highkey would recommend watching
Watch this. Just because you made it into the fitting room and concealed on body does not mean you’re home free!
also gives a bit of insight for aussie lifters into a couple well known department stores :)
Short story: I found liftbr by googling information on how to shoplift from Ulta.
Same tho
i was hate scrollin and i found a masterpost of lift tips and at the bottom the person whose blog i was looking at had just gone “real poor people dont do this :/ get a life uwu” or whatever
I found liftblr through some post complaining about how the OP couldn’t believe tumblr was totally cool with there being a shoplifting community and yet there was drama in fandom communities or something. It was a popular post I’m sure it’s done its rounds here.
I found liftblr through a podcast about shoplifting and the girl they were interviewing mentioned liftbr
repost since the original has too many notes
questions for lifters who work as SAs/LP, like me: when you catch fellow lifters in the act, how do you feel about it? do you feel guilty bc of the potential that they’re broke and in desperate need of what they lift (depending on the item(s), of course)? do you feel secondhand embarrassment and no sympathy for them because of the mistakes they made that led to them getting caught? what about if your store increases your paycheck for every shoplifter you catch, like mine does? would you absolutely turn on fellow lifters for that check increase with no hesitation if you really needed it or if your store mandates you to do so (i.e. if you ignore a lifter, intentionally or not, you will be fired on sight)?
A lot of what I do is try to turn a blind eye until I have to for the sake of my job since I usually feel really bad. Our fitting rooms are unlocked and there’s usually only two of us in the large women’s section, so even though I have to report tags we find loose in the dressing rooms, I only turn in ones that are super obvious.
Now some are fucking awful. If you’re talking to me directly for a return scam and decide to be rude and act like I’m cheating you, I’m gonna be pissed and not nearly as helpful as I usually am. Like I understand the plight of lifters, but I get enough shit working in retail. Remember to have compassion for the SAs and LP you work for: we’re all trying to make a living
My stores policy is that’s it’s required to call the cops if it’s over the felony amount. If not then it’s up to the lp to decide whether or not to call the cops. Generally I’ll just apprehend to get the merch back and then trespass them. That way I get the stat and they don’t get into any legal trouble. If the person is rude though or refuses to cooperate I’ll call the cops and let them handle it. If someone runs or tries to fight I let them go. No point in getting injured over a job. I don’t feel like I’m ruining people’s lives so I don’t feel bad about it. This is why I don’t recommend going over the felony limit from one store. If you’re caught you’re basically fucked. Funnily enough a high theft item in my store are the neodymium magnets that come in packs. If I catch someone body conceal those I let them go. If I see them slip it in their purse I’ll usually apprehend hoping they’ll learn it’s best to hide small things on body. Nothing from the store is what I feel a necessity so generally I don’t feel bad in that case. I feel guilty for kids though since I’m supposed to call their parents. Generally depending on how the kid behaves I’ll app them or not. My main concern is calling their parent and them getting beat up at home.
REBLOG THIS TO HELL AND BACK!!!!!!!! PLEASE ALL LIFTERS PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! THERE ARE SOME DISGUSTING PEOPLE WHI CLAIM THEY ARE TO GIVE JUSTICE WHEN THEY HIDE BEHIND A BADGE TO COMMIT CRIMES WORSE THAN STEALING!!!!!
Please don’t fucking carry weapons with you. If you get caught lifting and have a weapon that’s a MUCH bigger crime and you will get totally fucked.
This is misinformation.
Use your brains, this kind of stuff will get you serious jail time.
If you want to go to jail for armed robbery here you go! I know someone in jail for armed robbery right now and they will be there for the next 18 years.
Crying RN
My mom was saying when I’m in college I’ll be so broke I’ll eat anything I can find like bitch thinks I’m gonna pay for things 😂😂 LMAO what kinda fool you think I am 😭😭😂
why’d my dad say the EXACT same shit to me the other day LMAOOOOO
if only they knew
my parents would say this 😂😭
Don’t fucking steal from people you guys
Cause it’s fucking gross and unfair.
ONLY steal from large companies and corporations.
(A little backstory to this post: I was at a festival this past weekend and there was this couple that very obviously wanted to rob our tent. 🙄 They were super shady, didn’t have any festival/camping site passes, asked invasive questions and tried to convince us to go to the beach/concerts aka trying to get us to leave the tent. It was sooo obvious.)
I had my wallet and phone on me at all times, but in my tent I obviously had more stuff - makeup, clothes, our backpacks etc.
About 80% of my stuff is lifted, but IT DOESN’T MATTER. I was like bitch, go lift your own stuff from the store and fuck off and leave me alone!
I’ve worked for what I have, no matter if I paid for it or not.
LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE! DON’T EVER STEAL FROM PEOPLE BECAUSE IT AFFECTS THEM DIRECRLY.
If you steal from people you’re a peace of shit and you’re getting blocked.
Libra out. Peace. ✌🏻
lads if ur gonna lift something from off the shelf then bring forward the items from the back of stack so it looks like nothing is gone
Seriously please do this. Even if you’re actually buying something PLEASE DO THIS. working retail has taught me that no one else does this but everyone should? It’s just common decency so people can find the product they are looking for without digging in the back of the shelf???
i used to work @ Tårget as a backstocker & def can confirm that “zoning” (what we call doing the above method) shelves is a gr8 way to cover your tracks & make a shelf seem full.
