Angely Gaviria stars as Carmen, a woman who lived in Cartagena before being killed for being in love. When she is transported to our present-day, she has to become accustomed to our high-tech way of life. The trailer gives us a taste of the magic we can expect, but you can be sure that Carmen’s ascension to our time isn’t the only supernatural element in store for us. Siempre Bruja, which also stars Verónica Orózco and Dylan Fuentes, will hit Netflix next year.

People everywhere were transfixed by the girl in the photograph who stood tall, her five-foot-ten-inch frame towering nobly above the mob that trailed her. There, in black and white, was evidence of the brutality of racism, a sinister force that had led children to torment another child while adults stood by. While the images display a lot of evils: prejudice, ignorance, racism, sexism, inequality, it also captures true strength, determination, courage and inspiration.

Kylie Jenner clothing line accused of copying from indie designer

Just days after Khloé Kardashian was accused of ripping off pieces from an indie designer in her Good American line, Kylie Jenner is now being accused of exactly the same thing.

On Thursday, Jenner’s latest collection for her clothing line dropped, and it was all about camouflage. There are camouflage sports bras and lighters and hats and pants and bikinis.

Indie designer, Plugged NYC, is claiming that Jenner has ripped off these designs. In fact, it knows Jenner is a fan because it has sent her stuff to wear. If you have a child and they are creeped out by a nephew or older brother touching them or looking at them a certain way, you need to have a serious talk with that person and keep them the hell away from your child. Don’t minimize it or tell your kid to hug them anyway, that kid is picking up danger signals they don’t even understand yet. But so many families will tell that kid they are being a brat.

A quick note- this applies to female relatives as well. One of my aunts ignores my little brother’s requests not to hug or kiss him (he has aspergers and doesn’t like physical contact with people he is not very close with). I have repeatedly placed myself between the two of them and had to tell her to back off and stop trying to “desensitize” him. Whether or not there are “danger signals,” it is not okay for adults to invalidate a child or teen’s request for boundaries. We need to teach children now, when they are young, that they can say no to these things and that other people can too.

Also you need to let your kid know they can count on you to defend them, believe them, and stick up for them when it comes to things like that. Be it a family member, a teacher, a priest, whatever, they need to know you are on THEIR side, not the creepy adult’s side.
