question, are OC’s a deal breaker for people? i’m currently writing a new spider-centric fic that introduces two OC’s, however i’m not making them completely detrimental to the plot. they’re introduced in the beginning and then stay off for a little bit, but i am planning something for them that will affect spider.
but i know a lot of people hate OC’s and will not touch a fic if there’s any at all. i just want a general opinion tbh because i also tend to dislike OC’s, but occasionally i’ll change my mind if i like what they’re adding for the plot.

writing dialogue is my biggest struggle, especially when it’s between two guys. i feel like all my social skills fly out the window.

chapter 8 will be a bit later than usual. (it’s already late) i’ve been pretty busy lately with life problems and also started writing up another spider fic to spark up some imagination. but i promise it’ll be out by august!
The people who hate Spider for saving Quaritch need to stop acting like Spider leaving him to die would have made anything any better.
If Quaritch died, then Lyle would have been promoted to coronal as the only one of his squad to survive, he would have taken Jake in immediately when he found him in AFAA, the kids would have died at the hands of the Mangkwan because Jake and Quaritch weren't there to save them, and Neytiri would have lost her entire family in one day.

i’m almost done with the 6th chapter of my spider-centric fic. i’m just trying to finish up the ending scene which i will admit i’m having a little trouble with. but i promise i will try to get it out by this week. anyway, if anyone wants to let me know their thoughts, please don’t be shy! it’s the best form of motivation :)

Oh, gee whiz. I don't know what to tell you, but maybe this is Quaritch's fault for immediately betraying his own son's secret to Ardmore instead of keeping his mouth shut to protect his only child. Or maybe it's his fault for not putting Lyle down the second he realized someone else knew Spider could breathe Pandora's air, ensuring that knowledge died with him.
Hell, if we're playing the blame game, maybe we should blame Jake for not becoming Toruk Makto much earlier and permanently dismantling the RDA–Mangkwan alliance before it ever had the chance to flourish.
Or, and stay with me here, maybe this is just one of those situations where multiple people made decisions that spiraled into disaster.
What it sure as shit isn't, though, is Spider's fault for… checks notes… receiving a deity's blessing he didn't ask for and daring to be happy for once in his miserable life after sixteen years of pure, total shit.
