Clarke nodded her head slowly before running her fingers through her hair. “Yeah, It has just been stressful with them.” She said quietly explained her eyes glancing at Lexa’s sword.

She felt her stomach drop and she looked around trying not to focus her gaze on the weapon. “Everyone is trying to come to me for answers.” She added. “Answers, I don’t have or know.” The blonde said trying to explain herself in case things took a slight turn.

   Lexa’s eyes flicked to the ground for a moment. She  knew the feeling --------------- ----- but she was unable or  perhaps unwilling to share such information with her. Being a leader meant stepping up, meant providing or finding  answers that would benefit the people. It did not mean stum- bling through the woods, escaping, fleeing from one’s re- sponsibilities. “Some strength would do you good to discipline your people, Clarke.”

Clarke looked at her noticing a slight change, maybe ambiguity. The words my kind of struck Clarke in a weird way. She knew the grounders had claimed the land but never expected to be told they were specifically someones. Or at least with Lexa.

Slowly she nodded her head gripping her sketch book a bit tighter. “I just came to have some space, to think.” She answered the Commander. “Some air time away from everyone.” She added biting her lip the slightest bit. She knew this could go SOUTH very Q U I C K L Y.

“I see,” she replied curtly. The Commander had millions of questions ---- though she knew she shouldn’t ---- but the one at the top of her list was: “Why??” She had been under the impression that the skaikru, weak and fallible as they were, enjoyed their time together. Why would their leader need time away from her people?? But regardless--- Lexa gripped the hilt of her sword with steely resolve, desp- erate for something to hold onto so her hands would refrain from becoming fists or from reaching out.

Clarke smiled at Lexa, though they had a rocky relationship she still felt like she could have some sort of friendship or something with her. She nodded her head at the girl’s words and tucked back some of her hair. 

“I didn’t think you would be out here.” She said shaking her head and rolling her eyes at herself. “What are you doing?” She asked politely trying to be as kind as she could K N O W I N G she had messed up before.

  Lexa held her head high, as she had always been taught to do in the face of uncertainty.  “These are my woods, Clarke,” she replied--- though such was obvious && it was only a little endearing how polite she was being. “I am---- was on a hunt.” The Commander paused, straightening her posture, reluctant to persue conversation much further, con-sidering every second around her was like a stab to the ab- domen. “What are you doing?? ”

Abby was surprised to say the least. Since she’d joined the trigedakru, she’d heard nothing but how weak the skaikru were. And yet, here was the commander, confessing that she wanted to learn about them, appreciated them even.

           “I…I would be honored, heda. What is it you wish to know?”

   “H O W,” she started. “How can they survive ?? Weakness  here is death. How can they manage to remain so ... kwel ??”

    The words fell out almost faster than she could keep her calm facade intact. She was desperate for a way out--- she had been living under the stress of Heda, The Commander, the one who can never show emotion or mercy lest she be called weak by her own people. It was eating her A L I V E. And the skaikru somehow had all the answers.

Clarke had decided to get away from the camp for awhile. Things had been rather crazy since Mount Weather. She could not think S T R A I G H T, or her mind would wonder back to the grounders and Lexa. 

She sighed slightly and continued to walk, holding her sketch book in one hand in case she got any kind of inspiration. Clarke paused after a moment before seeing someone all too familiar. “Lexa?” She asked tilting her head to the side slightly.

  Eyebrows drew close momentarily in a bout of confusion, but she regained her calm expression once more. “Klark.” It was a statement more than a question, and it sounded  exactly as she intended --------- blunt enough to hide the  hurt and the memories and the feelings that came with the  name.
