i’m about to lose it i swear

so like. i try to give people the benefit of the doubt, right, especially when they’re my long-time friends and i feel like I know them. but sometimes it comes back to bite me and then i’m left feeling frustrated, angry, and stressed 😭

the house next to one of our fields went up for sale. my boss bought it to keep anyone crazy from moving in and causing problems w/ the animals. we planned to rent out two of the rooms to students, use one for storage, another for my office, and the last as a guest room.

the original plan was for me to help paint everything so we could be done by the end of October and start advertising in November. however, my friend really needed a place to go, and so i vouched for her and got her into one of the units early (the nicer one too; has an en-suite and everything)

well… they negotiated that she could paint instead of me in exchange for a discount on October’s rent; the deadline stayed the same. she was supposed to paint her space, my office, and the guest room and bathroom.

she got her space done expeditiously, including a fun accent wall… but halfway into december, my space still sits unpainted, as do the guest areas. so not only did she take work hours from me but she didn’t even DO the work. we had to push our rental deadline way back. my boss has technically already paid her for the work and still wants her to do it vs me just going ahead and getting it done.

additionally, i was told not to buy furniture for the office til it was painted. i was like ok, if it’s painted by the end of October, i can split the furniture purchases up across my paychecks in November and December… didn’t work out that way.

i have to start holding office hours in january to manage a different project we have going on. with the room still unpainted, and my friend out of town for the next four days, i have extremely limited time and funds to acquire furniture.

i have an extra office chair at my parents’, but I’ve got to figure out what to do about a desk, a filing cabinet, a printer… I’ll get reimbursed for them but that doesn’t change that i have to pay up front and that’s the limiting factor 😭

i also still have to do christmas shopping bc i planned to let my bf pick out a new chair for HIS office at our house, but we’ve both been so busy we just haven’t had the time 😵‍💫

little life update under the cut bc i wanna yap and everyone is busy rn lmaoooo

i started my vet tech classes and they’ve been good so far!! very excited for when I get to put LVT behind my name ayyy

also would like to brag on my man for a min!! he had to work an overnight shift the day before my bday, so he brought me breakfast and a latte on his way home from work 🥺❤️ he also cut his sleep time short to have more time w/ me in the afternoon 🥹 we had very good lunch/dinner dates!! and he walked around downtown w/ me allllll afternoon despite working so long the night before. we took a look around the bookstore together, got some sweet treats, and a couple drinks (nobody tell my cardiologist lmaooo). even if we were kinda limited on options bc it was a monday, I still had such a good time 🥰

hard to believe it’s been two years since we got together… feels like forever and no time at all at the same time. he’s been so encouraging w/ my school stuff and he takes such good care of me. a new coffee place opened in town and he surprises me with stuff from there sometimes, it’s always so good!! can’t wait for october when he gets to go back on day shift and we can actually do more stuff together 😩 i miss being able to have dinner together every night and playing games together on the weekends 💔 he’ll still be on that weird alternating schedule but at least he’ll have normal waking hours LMAO

my toxic trait is yes you WILL catch me in those comment sections. i love analyzing people’s arguments and pointing out their flaws and biases. i appreciate when someone points out flaws and biases of my own. i love a healthy debate as much as i love correcting people when they’re provably wrong.

most of all i love that the majority of people on social media talk out of their ass and don’t do research so most of the time i end up being right with minimal effort LMAO

but n e ways little ramble under the cut bc i like to yap!!

things have been very up and down lately. i had a cardiac event back in february and have been having smaller flare ups semi-consistently since then. had to quit my coffee shop job even tho I loved it bc i think it was just too much to be working a minimum of 42 hours between both jobs every week 💔 and i worked too hard to get where i am in the equine industry to just give it all up (plus the pay was better anyway).

i got diagnosed with a leaky heart valve which explains the cardiac symptoms. they think i got it from my dad and it just took a long time to get bad enough to cause problems. it’s been less of an issue since i dropped my other job though.

i asked my vets about a particular online vet tech program and heard good things, so i’m planning to go back for that in the fall. Dom’s been supportive. my birthday and our anniversary are coming up in august and i wanted to go back to juniper but i’m not really supposed to have alcohol anymore and they only have like 2 mocktails 😭😭 maybe we’ll go to tupelo honey instead 🤔 or maybe we won’t do anything big at all idk. we both work so much these days that by the time we have a day off we don’t want to go anywhere half the time 😅

idk. even if things don’t always go how i want them to, i’m still happy. i have Dom, i have my friends, i have a job i love and a good backup plan. it’ll be ok ❤️

i'm just feeling super sentimental today for a lot of reasons tbh so there's a long winded sap fest under the cut lmaoooo

i had a nice valentine's day at home (mostly lol) w/ my bf after a long and tiring workweek ❤️ we cooked breakfast together, i made a quick lunch before i had to go to work for a bit, and he made me dinner when i came home 🥺🥰

he got me the newest book in the eragon series which i was SO excited about!!! plus a bunch of candy lmaooo i ate like half the chocolate in one day

plus idk i've just been feeling so loved and cared for lately. my relationship is thriving despite us being on semi-opposing schedules, i've made some really great friends, my jobs are going well... my favorite manager gave us valentines gift baggies too lol.

i can't remember if i've ever posted about micah on here or not??? but anywayyy i love this girl sm. we started at dunkin at the same time and she has quickly become my best friend. it's a little funny, we have about the same age gap that i have with my brother (just backwards bc i'm older than her) and she feels like the sister i never had.

she started college this semester and she's doing pretty well!! i'm so proud of her, she's working so hard. we don't really get scheduled together at work anymore which sucks 💔 but she comes with me to my other job sometimes which has been really nice!! we still miss our friends that quit but oh well 😞

i do wish they had my bf on a 3-3 instead of a 7-7 so i could work more mornings and we weren't both having to do things on a 7-7 yk UGH. i miss when he was working 7-4 and i hate that every other department is on 12s too so it won't change no matter where he goes.

i'm so so grateful for the time that i do get to spend with him and i enjoy doing the meal prepping for him for the workweek so i know he's eating well and he's taken care of. he does a lot for me so i want to do what i can for him too ❤️
