another wonderful post I saw made me think about the similarities between Odysseus and Arthur but specifically, how Odysseus kills Astyanax, while Arthur gives the baby that they rescue away so she can live. both of these actions occur at the beginning of the story and both of these actions were driven by their feelings for and to protect their own children, Telemachus and Faroe. However, Odysseus kills so he can return to Telemachus, while Arthur refuses to kill because of Faroe’s death. What would Odysseus do to protect his own son— is killing Astyanax enough? What would Arthur do to save his daughter— is helping a stranger enough?
