“There’s an ugly name for those who do things the hard way.”
Her mind, as often it does, wanders back to the knight with the green hat –– and briefly, Lana reflects upon his struggles. So many monsters had that tireless boy battled… so many battles had they barely won ( each one felt like a steep uphill climb, with rocks tumbling down their way every step of the way; each figurative pebble had had only the goal of impeding their movement )…
There’s a revered name for those who do things the hard way: a hero. Her heart twists girlishly, even now, at the thought of him. Even after all this time, she still carries a deep fondness for him––– is he happy with Zelda, she wonders ? He deserves only happiness.
❝ I haven’t a clue as to what ugly word one might call such a person. ❞
