It happened when Sybelle was on her way to the bakery to buy something delicious to eat that night. She always finished school a few hours before her husband did and always liked to prepare a home made meal when he arrived too exhausted too cook. She turned around a corner and stopped when the light changed to red. Opening her bag, she checked her phone and texted back to one of her students, answering a question about an essay they needed to complete by the end of the week. She put the phone back inside and looked up to see if the light changed when she saw the car in front of her and who was the person behind the weel, her father. It was a fraction of a second when the green made the cars move again but she stared at it while it lost itself on the streets. Sybelle’s chest began to tighten and her hands began to shake. Her bag slidded from her shoulder and fell to the floor. She coughed and kneeled on the floor, not caring that people could think. She needed to find her inhaler, fast.Â
Lucy had been at Noora's trying to get a late night snack. She always did that when she got off of work early, and being a sweet tooth Noora's was the perfect place to go. She was waiting in line when she saw Sybelle standing there, and when she was about to open her mouth to speak, Lucy noticed something in her eyes. She watched as Sybelle kneeled down onto the floor, and Lucy kneeled down with her. The other woman was having what looked like a panic attack. Lucy has had her fair share of them when she was younger, and knew how to deal with them now. The blonde helped Sybelle open her purse "Sy, it's okay. Take deep breaths." Asking a barista for a glass of water, Lucy stayed on the floor with her "Sybelle take deep breaths" The barista came back with the glass of water, and Lucy held it for whenever Sybelle was ready. She thanked the barista and asked people to give them some space “Youre okay. Youre safe. Were here to help.” Lucy said as she smiled softlyÂ
