Accountability: Operation Figure 8
It feels like I have not only woken up but also became more present recently. I've grown immune to my own excuses and I've run out of sympathy for myself when I'm "too tired to cook", and end up eating something quick and unhealthy before bed.
I've had no problem giving myself any excuse to go to What-a-burger at 10pm if I'm up for the drive.
Not sure who or what has been holding me to it, but I'm doing way more than just liking workout videos on TikTok in my free time and I want to ride this wave as long as I can.
This is why I'm creating this blog, with zero followers, to hold myself personally accountable.
After lunch, I worked out for about an hour while watching T.V. and took breaks during commercials.
Today, I took a step towards a solution.
I also refuse to buy new clothes because I know that will make me comfortable in my present state.
Does anyone else put themselves in a situation of discomfort in order to solicit personal results? Like you're forcing yourself to make a decision? Or is that just me torturing myself for fun?
That's what I feel like I'm doing to myself, and what has always worked for me personally. My own version of Psuedo-sadistic Exposure Therapy.
My mantra for today is "If you don't like it, change it".
Corny and Cliche? Of course.
Does it make me cringe hearing myself say that to other people? You fucking bet it does.
But the older I get, the more cliches make sense, especially this one.
No one has the power to change anything for or about you without your consent; and if someone DOES have that power over you, then it's time for you to do some self-reflection, reaccess the situation, but most of all, snatch that shit back.
It's YOUR power. It doesn't belong to them.
