The Birth of Venus (2019). Version edit by @laitdecocostudio. for new Collection 2019.
If you could have a physical building/temple dedicated to Hellenic Polytheism, what would you want to see in it? What kind/amount of religious leaders would you want to see?
My dream is to have not just a temple but a community center in dedication to the gods. A place that would offer all different kinds of assistance, aid, and guidance. It would be cool to have different ones that are dedicated to specific gods and offer help based on the associations of that specific god. For example, Aphrodite’s would offer help and education in regards to sexual health. Hera’s would be a safe haven for domestic abuse survivors. Demeter’s would help feed the hungry and be a resource for single moms. Apollo’s would offer free/affordable healthcare and a safe place for young boys. Hermes’s would help the unemployed especially those who have just gotten out of prison. Hephaestus’s would be a safe haven for the disabled and a place to learn new skills. And so on and so forth.
As for religious leaders, I would def want people to be able to offer spiritual guidance. Teach classes. hold workshops, do one on one sessions, etc. But if this was me running the whole thing I would absolutely be vetting everyone who holds those positions bc I know how any kind of authority position pulls in ego-driven people, not to mention the taste of even a little bit of power can quickly corrupt a person. So i would def be making sure that doesn’t happen!
But yeah I personally really love the idea of a community center as opposed to just a temple. To me, the gods would appreciate that more. Honoring them by helping one another.
Hecate~ the Goddess of Magic & Witchcraft. ♡
I really love it when the gods speak to me through music
I love Aphrodte and Hephaestus because if there's one person who would have been able to see Hephaestus's beauty when everyone else though he was ugly and love him when nobody else would, it's Aphrodite. In the myths their marriage is usually portrayed as a cruel joke on Aphrodite, but personally I can't see the goddess of love being that cold to the Olympian who arguably needed love the most. They're adorable.
Yes exactly!! I always saw Aphrodite’s dismay with the marriage coming from the fact that she didn’t want to be married. If she wanted to marry she would have married Ares forever ago! Aphrodite being the embodiment of love can’t be tied down to one person. She needs to be free to share and express the endless supply of love that flows from her!
And I do believe Hephaestus is one who has and still does receive that love from her. I like to imagine she adores spending some days just watching him work. Seeing the passion in his eyes, his muscles straining as he puts his all into his work, and the pride he gets when he completes it.
I also have always seen Hephaestus as super gentle despite how rough and difficult his job is. When he touches Aphrodite, he treats her like delicate precious metals, never wanting to bruise her or hurt her. And I think Aphrodite appreciates that and enjoys being handled with such care.
And you know, Aphrodite and Hephaestus relationship always struck me as being more about enjoying ones company than sex. Not to say they don’t have sex, but I think he’s the one relationship she has where they could go without and they wouldn’t even realize because that’s just how much they enjoy just being in the same room as one another.

APPRECIATION POST FOR HERMES BC HE’S SO WONDERFUL AND IM SO THANKFUL FOR THE GOOD FORTUNE HE BRINGS ME!!!
This is probably a rant but it’s come to my attention while discussing with other worshippers that there are way too many posts out there dismissing or downright hating on Hephaesteus. As usual, I’m pretty sure most of those are not religious and rather come from mythology enthusiasts but it’s also a reality that Hephasteus seems to be one of those forgotten gods amongst worshippers too. Bear with me, I don’t have a relationship with him either.
That being said, aside from how damn important his domains are to our daily lives, I just want to remind everyone that his linkage to Aphrodite is actually…quite logical. Again, I’m not talking about the details of the myth, but about the idea. Craftsmanship as a whole serves both practicality and aesthetics. Some of it serves Aphrodite’s domain directly. In fact, it is attested in myth that Hephaestus creates Aphrodite’s jewelry as well as the one of every other god along with basically every chariots and miscalleous objects (list).
So yes, I know what the myths tell and how they present things, but can we just step back from this a little and be more practical in our approach of it? There are obvious links between their two domains, mythological drama aside.
(I’m sorry but I’m sure out of all the gods, Aphrodite must be the one to enjoy what his hands can do the most).
Poor Hephy, he doesn’t get enough love because I think modern society is so detached from MAKING THINGS, unless you work in a production industry. I know when I worked in a jewellery store, even then it’s so easy to look at the finished product and not give a thought to the hours of work that went into it.
He’s also usually depicted as a buff cis het dude so tumblr doesn’t love him like they love Apollo and Dionysos. I’m surprised he doesn’t get much attention for his relations to physical disability though and the ways that it’s overcome.
So I vote that whenever a terf tries to use Aphrodite as a symbol of their hate and transphobia we respond with:
“Sorry can’t hear you over Aphrodite’s penis”
Just a reminder that Aphrodite’s beautiful feminine body includes a penis.
Oh and because im so freakin sick and tired of terfs using Aphrodite as their figurehead for their hate, bullshit, and transphobia. I made a meme:
How did you start working with Aphrodite on your personal development, and how did she guide you?
It really started with me thinking about how Aphrodite would want me to behave specifically in regards to myself. This forced me to change the way I spoke to myself. When I began throwing negative words out there I could feel Aphrodite glaring at me or I would just think “Aphrodite wouldn’t like that” so then I would quickly change the thought to something more positive.
It may seem simple and even trivial but it was what made the biggest difference in my personal development. Changing my mindset to a more positive one was the foundation to everything.
I also began looking at my personal development and my self-care as religion. Which made it significant, sacred even. I was more likely to keep up with the steps because not only was what I doing seen as sacred in my eyes now but I was doing it to please a goddess! So these steps felt special and powerful.
And the thing is that personal development regardless of whether it’s part of a religion or not IS sacred. Its powerful. And it’s important! So working with Aphrodite helped me see it that way. She helped me see that I am worth putting energy and time into. I’m worth growth and I’m worth happiness. I’m worth showing myself kindness and compassion. She taught me that.
One thread is scarlet: Aphrodite Antheia, showered with rose petals, and Persephone with rubies glinting in her hair, pomegranate seeds between her lips. Red wine splashing onto the hungry earth to feed Hekate and her retinue of the restless dead. The color of life is the color of blood. The color of power.

Hello Love I would like to ask how do you feel the presence of your gods?
Hello, darling! I just kind of do. A lot of it is trusting myself enough to know the difference between my own emotions/thoughts and the gods’.
I also do want to point out that I don’t feel their presence all the time. It’s not a routine thing. So I don’t want worshipers thinking they’re doing something wrong if they don’t feel anything. Sometimes I do rituals and just feel my own sense of calm and warmth with what I did for the gods which honestly is enough for me. I don’t always need them there to give me approval or validation. I have faith that they hear me and accept my offerings and services. And I know in my heart that they approve of me as a worshiper and devotee.
Friendly reminder
That a deity will still help you even if you don’t relate to them. I have nothing in common with Hera, I’m not married and I’m not interested in motherhood. But when I came to her in tears asking for help she helped. She had such an influence on making things better and welcomed me with such softness.
Don’t be afraid to come to a deity whose domain seem far away from you or a deity you’ve never built kharis with. The Theoi are welcoming gods, no matter what the myths might make you think.

Hi, I am a somewhat baby Hellenic, but its very hard to worship for me because I have ADHD, so I tend to have trouble sticking with routines, being organized enough to make journals or altars, or even remembering thing that I feel are really important. Do you, or anyone for that matter, have any tips on how to worship with ADHD and organisation issues?
When you’re struggling with worship because of reasons like a disorder, chronic illness, mental illness, or disability it’s important to remember that you need to adapt worship to your life, not the other way around.
If you find it difficult to do the more common or traditional methods of worship find ways to adapt them where they are easier to manage or find new ways all together.
Some people don’t realize that they have a very limited definition of what worship is and what it entails. So perhaps you may need to redefine what worship so that it better fits in with your life.
Ultimately, I just want you to know that you have the power and the right to mold and build your worship in a way that actually works for you. You don’t have to force yourself to do all the things you see everyone else doing especially if those things are not available to you or are very difficult to accomplish.
So now i’m going to open this up to my followers, especially those who have ADHD, to share some advice, tips, alternative methods of worship, etc that will hopefully help!
