i’m not a happy person.

i never have been, i think; not even when i was very small. i imagine it was funny then-- a tiny me, scowling from under a bowl cut. lisping in a monotone, sarcastic and droll even in pre-K.  it’s less funny now, sits less well on an adult face, adult body. 

i was always a little cynic, but before there was a twist a small smile, a little giggle and shrug  as if to indicate mostly-kidding, still-good, moving-forward i don’t think i have that anymore. 

i think before i felt in control and capable, equal to ‘it’.  whatever it was. whatever it could be.  i haven’t had that feeling in a long time and wherever that feeling went, it look the small smile with it

i don’t know how to move forward from here. i don’t want to move at all.
