yay!
jay please he is desperate
two bad bitches
It's very rare for Nightwing to change anything in the costume, so in my redesign, in addition to the jacket, there will also be a gradient on the legs, except for my love for this, I can't justify it in any way.
I actually love how this looks. Can I use this design for fanart purposes????
it vexes me that this book isn’t canon cuz it’s doing such a great job elaborating on jay’s personal struggles
This is peak writing for Jay and yet is not Canon 😭 im gonna end myself
jonno….
He's not. Jon is doing the bare minimum and calling it a day bc he doesn't know what's the best he can do.
He's been manipulated since the beginning of the webcomic and Jay's been there every single time to point the obvious tricks and manipulations and the games they play to use Jon as a pawn and Jon has done NOTHING to prevent it from happening again. He's been played by Lexcorp MANY times and most of them had backfired towards Jay and the metahuman.
Jon is taking the therapy as a momentary solution and is not actively trying to work his trauma out; something that he SHOULD be doing. Jon was left out of a lot of life experiences that would've helped him understand how people's mind work and how that affects him and how his actions affect on the rest of the world. Now he's just thinking with the same mindset of a 10 yrold that thinks he's done enough by being superman or by bringing important info to his boss or by letting Jay out of prison. He's not, he's not looking at the bigger picture and that's his problem, he doesn't know how and when someone points that out he gets mad, upset bc he thinks he's trying his best when he's clearly not.
His AI Therapist suggested healthy coping mechanisms for his Anxiety and he points Drinking, violence and Overconsumption as healthy mechanisms, showing how little he knows.
He's just a child trying to play an adult life without really understanding it whole and it hurts him bc he's making the same mistakes over and over and everyone can see that except for him.
He's got all the right to be mad and feel bad and his anger is ok, but again: This is a child on a Adult body complaining that his boss ain't including him when he was the one getting the information; even when this same child-Adult got himself, his friends, his boyfriend and the whole Daily Planet in trouble by having the complete info and acting impulsively and without critical thinking about the consequences just thinking about how he could help (which is good, but not quite right).
He's ok as superman, but as a reporter he sucks. And he's blaming Monty and Jay on his own wrongdoings without trying to analyze why is that they act like that around HIM specifically.
I may be wrong about Jon tbh and maybe im biased towards Jay but omg how I was mad reading today's issue of This internship is my kryptonite 😭😭
The irresistible urge to clone ur dead clone best friend….

tom come get your kid
I'm not saying this because Jay Nakamura is my favorite character, rather this is WHY he's my favorite character, but I think Jay in particular is one of those characters who brings out the underbelly of other characters just by being in their vicinity. Which makes him really good to put across from characters who've been struggling with development or stagnation, or characters who don't get challenged by the narrative that often. The nature of what he stands for (mainly, criticizing heroes for often upholding american interests above all else) in the context of Superhero comics as a medium means hes kind of like, the platonic ideal for forcing literally anyone in the DC world to contemplate what they actually stand for and believe in. There's basically no character I can think of where he'd have a boring dynamic with them, either way how they react to him is going to Say something about them.
My beloved Jay
if jay needs someone to defend him in court they gotta hit me up like let's do it baby i know the law
me: in superman: son of kal-el volume one, jay is consistently shown wearing glasses except for very few times, one of them being when he sneaks into star labs to acquire the security footage of faultline's kidnapping. the natural assumption is that he also has contacts and it makes sense he would wear them for a mission, but when we see him on the rooftop with jon, damian, and lois right after, he is once again wearing glasses. this means he either carries both his contact lenses and glasses around so he can easily switch between them, or he literally takes his glasses off and goes into the mission with his vision fucked-up, which is a hazard and poses a risk that doesn't seem like something jay would place his bets on. additionally, if he WAS wearing contacts during the star labs break-in, the switch to glasses after implies that he prefers glasses over contacts, which is strengthened by his multiple action comics and absolute power appearances post-soke where he is almost never without them. however, he never wears glasses throughout secret six, which means he's either wearing contacts the whole run, is going through everything with fucked-up vision, or he can see perfectly fine. the third option suggests that the glasses he's been wearing the whole time we've known him are actually fake—yes, even when he was taken by bendix in what was likely his preteen to early teen years—and, because of his glasses being a basic-bitch pair, leads me to believe this is because jay might have had a hipster phase. in this essay, i will—
superbat freak off in my mind….
I think about this headcanon and I cannot stop.
I was wondering how funny would be if Kon keeps his civil name Conner Luthor, but for all wrong reasons.
I imagine Clark would let him bc in this au Kal spent so much time with Bruce that B got him hooked on adopting blue-eyed, black-haired children who had experienced traumatic events.
So Clark loves and takes care of Kon. But Kon keeps Luthor's name. Because imagine Lex reaction when he's realizes that HIS kid, using HIS name not only is hero (Superboy), but also have great realtion with Superman. And apparently plans to inherits Lexcorp.
Of course Kon would give Lexcorp to Tim because he's not interested in multi-billion dollar companies and his sweet boy deserves the best gifts.
Also Kon thinks if his civil name be Conner Luthor no one will suspect he is Superboy. Because Superboy is Superman son And Luthor hates him.
But to his surprise Metropolis see this different. People actually thinks that Supes and Lex and divorced parents and Kon is neglected child.
When Clark finds out he had breakdown. Because what the fuck you mean people think HE DATED LEX???!!
Bruce is very amused by the whole situation.
Kon takes advantage of this, and when he's angry with Clark, he threatens to move in with his other dad. (It's very funny because Lex is actually his biological father.)
After these events, Superman and Lex's fights are treated like a divorce gone terribly wrong. People wonder why Luthor can't move on, when his ex clearly did. (Of course, there are photos of SuperBat or fanarts floating around the internet.)
I also imagine that Lex, influenced by, well, everyone, has started spending more time with Kon, teaching him about running a business and taking him to various galas.
Because, damn it, he can't afford to be seen as a father neglecting his own child. (He'll be no worse than fucking Superman.)
these photos give the exact same vibe and u cant tell me they dont (>_>)
