you know its a good day when you can eat watermelon :)
if you're in the uk, morrissons have been doing mini watermelons for £1.50, so i've been getting them from there because unlike the markets you can almost guarantee it wont be mushy in the middle
sorry that i havent been around but im going to get back to posting
my budget has changed for food since i graduated so right now my staples are bananas, dates, potatoes and rice
day 1 of juicing, im back!!
just handed in my degree, really need to detox and get some nutrients in me.
green juice of; watermelon, spinach, apple, lemon, celery, cucumber after a litre of coconut water
lunch yesterday, mangoes!
Vegucated - 2010
The whole film on Vimeo, helpful for beginners
there were so many parts in this film where i wanted to be like 'ACTUALLY...'
before and after
made a couple of these as my post-fruit dinner tonight, technically raw ingredients but the mushrooms and peppers were put on the grill for a bit
what i picked up today
its heading towards the end of my degree, and this week i was running around like a maniac, and not giving myself the time to get the right kind of food sources in me, aka ive been over-eating all week on the wrong kind of foods.
Thinking about friends and relatives who have fallen ill recently has reminded me of how important health is, and how much of that is linked to what we put on and in our bodies. I think people need to remember that if the 'health care' system really cared about our health, the nhs wouldnt exist and people like nutritionists and genuine healers would be more respected than doctors. The health care system is there to make us feel dependant on pharmaceuticals instead of understanding what the core of illnesses are, and most of them are linked to nutritional issues, because most of the world isnt eating what they really should be eating.
Anything that's not 100% natural and unprocessed is a distraction from the original fast food, and the idea of a plate of mangos sounds so good right now. I'll post what I bought when I get back, rant over!
do you not miss cheese being vegan?
i just watched a pizza advert to check and it made me want to gag that texture eugh no i dont miss it
had a yummy dinner; a watermelon with lime, a big kale salad with two baked potatoes, and then a bowl of frozen berries with grapefruit juice :)
shellfish, more like a meat plant? I have a hard time understanding people who think fish dont count as living beings, last summer someone called me a pescetarian and that was pretty much the last straw before turning vegan, and i was basically a vegetarian who was lactose intolerant and and continued to use dairy as a comforting/abusive food. Im sure in 10 years or so people will start to realise how pointless and bad for you dairy is. sorry rant over!
having a juicing day :) ive been super busy and have been poorly the past week so its well needed!
best dinner ever - watermelon with a lime, cherries and a kale salad!
today, most of this was juiced
this evenings green juice, had to put it in a blender because there was so much of it
head of kale, 2 bunches of celery, 5 cucumbers, 2 lemons, 4 apples!
cost me about £3
"You shouldn't eat fruit - it has so much sugar!"
