Super Mario Adventures (1993) : An adventure following the two super plumbers, Luigi and Mario, that was originally published in Nintendo Po
The story is a loose adaptation of the Super Mario series from SMW and one of Mario + Wario games. It's certainly a fun read, and the closest interpretation to the modern Super Mario I've seen. It could be because the comic itself stems from the Nintendo Power magazine, but it still have a lot of creative liberties, characteristic for vintage Mario media.
While now I can see all the inaccuracies, this little comic really helped in shaping my attachment to the koopalings as a kid, with one spectacular comic dub on YouTube I can't seem to find anywhere.
I can't recommend it for serious character analysis, however I do think it really captures the spirit of the koopalings well, especially for the time period. If you're here for fun, The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. kind of wacky energy, you're in luck.
