Ponies are on the mind. Here's the Mane 6 as a sticker set, more to follow sooooon
Total tonal whiplash from my Malzeno piece, to be sure; but sometimes the urge to draw whimsical honses is too strong.
Right, time to dust off Tumblr again and post some of my artwork. Here's one fresh Malzeno in the moonlight; one of my favorite Monster Hunter monsters and generally creature designs of all time.
It's dragon. It's vampire. It's majestic. It's extra. It's fluffy.
Even more references for ArtFight! It's starting today, so excited~
Both of these guys are absolutely pathetic dishrags of men, but I love them dearly anyhow.
More artfight refs? More artfight refs.
A literal unicorn (badly masquerading as a street urchin), the unoffical official vampire queen and a actress lady specialized in breeches roles doing phantom thievery exploits at night.
... I like the aesthetics Vampirony is starting to develop.
Death refs for Artfight! Will this be the time where I actually start using Tumblr regularily? Who knows, who knows
Currently participating in the #brrrdcember challenge by @/bingybongo over on DA - the focus is on northern birds and my humble bird nerd personage is very happy about this.
Here are the first 6 days!
1.) Common Merganser
2.) Eurasian Magpie
3.) Barnacle Goose
4.) Jackdaw
5.) Blue Tit (+ bonus Great Tit) (why are these names like this, English whyyy)
6.) Whooper Swan
Talking animation practice with two Vampirony lads~
Death is as deadpan (ha) as ever, and Chrissi... his usual slightly smug self.
Went to Rebecca in Vienna recently - and just had to draw the iconic Mrs. Danvers. I may have opinions about the musical, but mhmmm, the aesthetics!!
Alright, it's time to actually use this site.
So time to share the cast of my lil' point&click project I hope to turn into a playable reality someday.
Without further ado, here's Chrissi, main character and honorary cat boy galore.
Christian von Katzenheck's role is a mix of detective and vampire therapist; going on his missions with charisma, slinkiness and a healthy-dose of cat-like confidence. Yes the kittiness is a theme here. All the characters are vaguely based on fairytale characters, so feel free to guess whom's who ;)
Chrissi also has a stoat. Her name is Herbert.
Case in point, here's Herbert. She's Chrissi's undead familiar of sorts - and arguably the more competent one of the two. (Even though she is more or less an inventory item, mechanically speaking, ha)
Her fur color changes depending on the season!
A sir.
What it says on the tin - and arguably so much more. ;) Tired, hungry, caffeine-addicted. Not unfriendly, rarely vicious, just overworked.
Keeping details intentionally vague here, let's just say he has a rather important role to play and I have way too much brain rot for him.
He is very much a shape changer, what is pictured above is his prefered human guise in Vampirony's story.
Also comes in a more feminine flavor, even though he is meant to be very much androgynous.
We also offer him as (the pale) horse.
And in his favored mortal watching appearance, crow.
Of course, mortal appearances are very much a disguise. For this. (Form prone for eldritch shifts and adjustments, as needed.)
And then there's this. It started as a joke, and now this lil' fella is here to stay.
Death has angels, too.
How very dapper and... uh... approachable. Yeah, somebody should sit Death down for some branding talk.
And we commence~
Pleasure to introduce Madam D., the inofficial official Vampire Queen herself. (do ignore the bat form, that is a WIP as of writing this)
Stern, experienced and scarily competent - nobody knows what the D. stands for. (It is not "Death", though. Even though she has quite the unique relationship to the Lord of the dying and the dead... ;p)
Next up: Side characters. Aka. protagonists/key figures in individual cases vs. being recurring cast
Gabriel! This silly lil' 2-meter-something guy has gone through so many changes since his initial inception, ahaha
Anyhow - he's a so-called 'Lesser Vampire', meaning he has different origins than the classic "turning by drinking a sire's blood". Not gonna elaborate too much on that here (I want to develop a game after all), but let's just say Lesser Vampires tend to be viewed with a certain degree of sneers by 'Proper Vampires'.
This guy can pull/summon creepy-crawlies from his hair. His appearance also changes and twists further as the story goes on. Body horror? Body horror.
Henriette!
Where there's vamps, there's werewolves - they are generally on neutral-to-good terms; as long as there is no personal conflict.
Henri and Chrissi work together from time to time; possibly making her a playable character in one or the other case. We shall see.
At any rate, this lil' lady fully embraces her lycanthrophy - except on full moons. We will talk about full moons. Later.
And another werewolf - Meet Eitel Edwin von Besserwitz, who does everything but embrace his lycanthropy...
A dishrag of a man, decent Rittmeister I've been told. If only he could muster as much composure in personal relationships as he does on the battlefield... Man peaked 1866 and it's been going downhill ever since.
Quickfire round to tie this of (for now).
Franz Xaver, Madam D.'s faithful, if ever judgemental, assistant. Somebody tell him the 1700s are over.
Peregrina! Opera actress specialised in 'Hosenrollen' (young men played by women) by night, gentleman thief... even later at night. I love her your honors
Eleanor, whom I have sorely neglected for way too long - Henriette's future girlfriend, but you haven't heard it from me right here.
Walburga! Another opera actress, this one decidedly vampiric~
Betty!! Aka. The Keeper. Also with an ancient ref - once again, please do ignore the bat.
There's more, but they are currently either getting redesigned or... designed in the first place.
I lied, there's one more. Felicien, the latest edition to the roster -heavy WIP. Totally just a very normal lad, yes yes. No secrets here whatsoever.
