Well, this is odd... | Azee + Ramza
The morning came quickly and quietly in the forest city-state, and by the time Ramza woke up, Azee was already wide awake and walking around the house. She was out of the armor the other saw herin yesterday, opting for more casual clothes.
Normally she would’ve been out of the house by now, exploring, fighting, training all that lovely stuff. But she didn’t want to leave her guest alone in a unfamiliar land, and just stayed in for now, walking around and seeing what would need to be done before she decided to head back to Ul’Dah tomorrow.
Silata (and their Elezen companion) had come by earlier that morning to ask Azee how her charge was doing, and to talk and figure out what they were going to do. Silata had spoken about going to Mor Dohna, or maybe running around La Noscea, while both seemed like great ideas, she had put them off until a later date.
As she waved Silata and their Elezen friend out the door, she turned to see Ramza had woken up and was walking around. “Good to see you up, I trust you slept well?”
Ramza's condition had improved greatly in the few hours he slept. Stumbling out of his bedroom, he lazily trudged down a flight of stairs, catching faint parts of a conversation Azee was having with what he guess were other order members, though what it could actually be was anyone's guess. When he reached the end of the stairs, he saw Azee, dressed in much lighter clothing than the full armor she had dawned yesterday. She almost looked like a different person to Ramza. She turned to Ramza and asked “Good to see you up, I trust you slept well?”
"Your quartering was fantastic, thank you again. Ms. Azee, I have something to ask of you. I don't think that wandering about your realm without a guide would be safe or effective, especially for what I wish to accomplish. For the time being, I wish to join your order. If you request a test of my combat experience, I could present such. I'm not asking for any more amortization than what is necessary, I just need to gain a foothold in this strange world.
Oh dear... it must sound like I'm rambling. I apologize" He finished up his statement and attempted to avoid making eye contact at the woman standing in front of him. Upon retrospect, it was kind of an imposing suggestion.

Mustadio may be a mechanical mastermind, but the man was hopeless in almost every other endeavor. Ramza had traversing this mechanized metropolis for the better part of two days following leads on his last known whereabouts. His lost companion tended to gravitate towards places where humanity's best "toys" could be found and the city of Midgar looked like a playground to him. Not only that, but he could have sworn hearing that one of his former companions used to claim residency in this city.
Ramza thought to himself, "A more intelligent leader would attempt to question the populous to find the location of his lost comrade.", wiping the pouring rain from his eyes in the process. Even the slums of Dorter at the end of the war didn't look this dreary and bleak, not to mention the fact it's inhabitants were somehow kinder than the numerous people who seemed to ignore Ramza's existence. He made his way towards a building with a small roof to escape the rain. After taking a moment to catch his breath, he turned to the woman to his side and asked "Excuse me, madam. I'm looking for a blonde male by the name of Mustadio Bunansa. Do you by anything about this man by chance?"

“My name is Cyan Garamonde of Doma. Who art thee?”
Ramza turned his head to see the source of the shout. Standing a fair distance away from him was an elderly man in his late 40's, in dark heavy armor with his hand resting on a katana's sheath. Part of Ramza wanted to ignore the cry and scramble back to the campsite with his firewood, the temptation of Agris's stew could almost be smelt by him now.
"My name is Ramza Beoulve, sir. I'm traveling along with some companions at the moment. What brings you out here?" he said anxiously, eyeing the path towards the clearing his troupe was located at.

Well, this is odd... | Azee + Ramza
She waved to the Lalafell as she left the house, chuckling all the while.
“Well there are the Elezen, a bunch of really tall people with pointy ears who have sticks so fr up their asses you can see the tips of the sticks comin’ out of your mouth.” She laughed before heading towards the door herself.
“Thats about it, though. Rest up all you want though.” She wished him a good night, and that she’d be down the hall should anything happen and left the door, closing the door behind her.
The night spent in Azee's guest room was uneventful, but needed. Ramza appreciated the brisk chill coming from his open window, it cleared his mind and allowed him to focus on reviewing what had happened during the day. If he had survived the fall of Saint Ajora, it meant that those on boar had the chance as well. Going back to Ivalice was out of the question at this point, there was nobody left alive that would shelter a heretic who spewed seemingly nonsense of demons. The others had enough guile that, if they had survived the explosion caused by the Bloody Angel, they would make it in whatever place they wound up in.
Earlier in the day, he was questioning how long it be until he saw the Ivalice countryside again. Thinking about it while basking in the moonlight that shone through the window, if everything were to go correctly, Ramza wouldn't be seeing it for a very long time.
There was some one that Ramza had to find, however. He had fate in whatever benevolent deity that was watching over him would reunite the two eventually, but this would be a reward that the youth would have to earn. He had no intention of finding her alone, however. If this really was similar to his motherland, he'd find beings of cowardice and shame, but he'd also find beings of bravery and kindness, much like the dragoon that had found him in the wreckage.
Ambitious thoughts filled his fading conscious as his exhaustion finally caught up with him. The last thing he muttered before he drifted into slumber was "Dosen't look like... tomorrow is going to be any easier..."

Well, this is odd... | Azee + Ramza
“Trust me, if there were beastmen around I wouldn’t be this calm.” Actually she’d be fending them off with a spear and looking quite fierce.
However her brows rose ever so slightly when he said he was from Ivalice, that would explain why he was so confused, but why did he say there were no races like these back there. Azee was fairly sure Ivalice had Viera….maybe he was from a region of the world that didn’t have them?
However she couldn’t ask him for she turned to see the Lalafell had invited herself in. “You’re from the Conjurer’s Guild?” The Lalafell nodded, pulling back her hood with a grin. Azee looked to Ramza and grinned. “It may not look it, but this little girl right here is a powerful healer. She’s the one that’s going to be taking care of your wounds.” She told him, getting up off the bed and standing over near the wall, out of the mage’s way.
“I’ll stay in the room this time, just in case you decide she’s a demon too.”
An audible sigh left Ramza's mouth upon hearing that he had managed to offend another race. It almost seemed like he had a natural talent for doing so at this point. The diminutive creature shot Ramza a dirty look, then hobbled over to where he was laying. Luckily, the mage took little lasting offence to the heretic's transgression and his wounds were patched up within a short period of time. Looking closer at his healer, he realized that the magically-tuned doctor had strange ears and it's facial structure was different than a human child's of that size.
Ramza stated "Thank you for hea-", his statement cut short by quick smack from the lalafell's staff to the top of his dome. "Er, yes, I suppose that was in order after what happened." The conjurer made a small bow and left the room without muttering a single word. While Ramza's wounds had healed, he was still exhausted from the healing process and what had occurred earlier in the day. Rolling over on his side, he looked at a smirking Azee in the corner and asked "Is there any other group I can make racially offensive comments about in Eorzea? If not, it's getting late, I apologize. Do you mind if I rest for the night or are there any other matter to attend to?"
Well, this is odd... | Azee + Ramza
Azee couldn’t help but laugh more, she had never seen anyone react that way before to seeing any race other then Hyur.
“Hey~ Silata’s not a demon, either is Smalls.” It didn’t stop the Dragoon from looking amused as hell by his reactions though. It was the most outrageous she had ever seen in someone. “You didn’t notice them when we were coming into the city?” Of course he didn’t he was in pain.
Wait until he saw the Lalafell and Elezen when he was able to wlak around, oh this was going to be fun. Azee sat on the edge of the bed and grinned. “They’re harmless, Ramza. All the races are. You can relax, none of them will come at you and stab you in the night.” Azee had to reassure him before he decided they were all crazy.
"Hmm. I apologize. Beastmen similar to your friends have given me nothing but strife. I guess Ivalice much further than I had anticipated." His breathing was finally calming down. He will admit, it must have seemed childish to have such an outrageous response to an everyday occurrence to her. He thought that some of the inhabitants of the city they entered were strange, but not any more so than crowds of other cities. Though he hadn't experienced much, the small town was welcoming enough and the citizens he's met have been more than willing to assist a complete stranger who was dragged out of a flaming crater.
"Suffice to say, Ivalice doesn't have any of the races that your realm has. In fact, while I do not have much evidence to support my hypothesis at the moment, the only reason I'm laying in this bed is because of the influence of otherworldly entities." Ramza let out another slight grin towards the woman called Azee, "Thinking about it now, perhaps that was more of a boon than a curse."
Upon finishing that statement, Ramza saw what looked like a rotund child in white-mage robes walk through the wooden door. The hood of the long cloak covered the short individual's face, displaying only a minuscule mouth. "Good day, child. I assume the priest will be in momentarily Do you need to know anything before the mage arrives?" he inquired.
Well, this is odd... | Azee + Ramza
“It’s understandable.” Azee had actually pulled the dagger she kept at her hip out of its place and handed it to him. “Just don’t go brandishing it at people, alright? I’ll be back in.” Once the dagger was nearby where he could reach it, she felt the room.
Sure enough she came back into the room not even a half hour later, being followed by a large Roegadyn male and a smaller Miqo’te female, shorted then both the Roegadyn and Azee.
“Smalls over here.” The Roegadyn huffed. “Is gonna ask you some questions, just answer ‘em honestly, he’s a big teddy bear.” Once she was sure Ramza wasn’t going to try and throw the dagger at him, she left with the cat-like woman, keeping the door slightly open as she left.
The questioning was a bit painless, other then Azee haven’t to explain a million and a half times she saw no one else there and if he was a Garlean he would recognized all the phrases she was speaking while they were coming towards the city.
The Roegadyn and Miqo’te left a hour and a half later, with Azee asking the Miqo’te to have a conjurer come over to help with his wounds. After they had gone, she came back into his room and laughed at his confused face.
If there wasn't a sense of culture shock before the entrance of Azee's monstrous companions, it was there after. He instinctively grasped the blade he had been given by the Dragoon. His first thoughts were that they were aligned with demons, Lucavi allies that had tracked him down. They were calm about the entire interrogation procedure, however. They asked him about a supposed citizenship of a nation named Garlean, about the airship crash and about other factions and locations he had no idea about.
The creature referred to as a "Miqo'te" seemed innocuous enough, about the same size and build of shorter adult woman with some cat-like features. The grey behemoth known as a "Roegadyn" was an entirely different experience, his loud voice attempted to dawn a diplomatic tone with questionable success (though not to any fault of his own). Much to the dismay of Ramza, he was the one that asked almost all of the questions.
Azee eventually stepped back into the room, chuckling at the obvious shock that Ramza had displayed. "W-What manner of creature were those? You didn't think it be important to warn me about the infestation of monsters around the area?" He tried raising himself from the bed, but his bones decided to commit mutiny and his body comically fell back down. "How many more of those beings are there?"
Well, this is odd... | Azee + Ramza
The sight of Azee’s feathered mount eased Ramza’s mind by a significant amount. The sight of anything familiar to his motherland, especially something so commonplace took away from the “fish out of water” vibe that this country so far had. It was remarkable that her chocobo was trained that well, for it to be beckoned to her side with such haste and to have traveled through the forest with the speed it kept up.
“I do have a few more lines of inquiry, if you don’t mind.” he shouted, his voice combating the wind rushing against them. “You mentioned something about an “Order of the Twin Adders”. It seems as if there’s animosity between your faction and that one. May I ask if this is true?”. As he asked that, he caught glimpse of some some buildings in the distance. He assumed they were getting close to their destination.
“No, there’s not.” At least to her there really wasn’t, as far as she knew all the Grand Companies tolerated one another. “The Order of the Twin Adders is just part of a larger alliance between the three city-states. While we fight together when times call for it, each separate military handles it’s own regions. The Adders deal with Gridania, the Flames with Ul’Dah and the Maelstrom with Limsa Lominsa.” She explained.
“So it’s not animosity, it’s more of people overstepping their boundaries.” As they moved closer to the city, Azee lead her chocobo away from the main gates and to where the residential areas were located. Not many really looked at them, more curious as to looking up in the sky and wondering if it was another Calamity.
They made it to her house in no time at all after that, and Azee helped Ramza off her Chocobo and into the house, leading him to a spare bedroom and sitting him down on the bed.
“Just…stay there, okay? I gotta go call a friend a mine so the Adders can come over. Any other questions before I leave?”
"Plenty, but they're not imperative at the moment. I won't be going anywhere, I assure you" he stated, sinking his head into the soft down. The pain had finally caught up with him. Most of the joints in his body seemed to have revolted against him, as shifting about caused sharp jolts of pain. "Now, this is inexcusable paranoia, but if you could bring me back something to arm myself with, I would appreciate the gesture. I trust you, rest assured, but traveling a strange land without proper equipment is unsettling." He attempted alleviate some of the tension with a kind grin. The woman that rescued him seemed a bit "direct" with her vocabulary and mannerism, but her kind spirit couldn't be mistaken.
