The founding fathers failed to live up to their own ideals but now propaganda has been so effectively used that when we see our fellow humans rights being violated on our own doorstep we look away hoping it won’t happen to us but failing to understand that if they can take away one persons rights then none of us have them at all.

My dirty little secret? I like having a speaker when I’m at the beach. I like hearing my music and the waves. I also don’t really get why other people get so mad about it. Like the ocean is so loud. You can just walk down a little ways and I promise my little Bose Bluetooth speaker is no longer going to be a problem for you. I am a creature of peer pressure so I don’t play the music. But I do feel like other people are being unreasonable in demanding I not do so.

I am sitting here alone on my couch. My house is empty. My husband is away on a trip. All of the plans I made have fallen through. It’s peaceful. As my plans fell through one by one I felt a little lonely. But I woke up this morning and somehow I felt better. Remembered that while it is a little lonely it’s also a chance to recharge and reflect and be still.

When I was a kid we were in Section 8 housing and my great grandma was our landlord. I remember feeling like we were doing something wrong. Then there was a falling out and no one would take our Section 8 and we had to couch surf for the next year. Anecdotal I know but my lived experience and the other people I grew up with all of the “taking advantage tactics” were just survival.
