A Cerces and Mnestia record has you wanting to fluster Anaxa like in the scroll...
You've heard that your dear scholar fused his soul to the reason titan recently. He is the corresponding Chrysos heir after all, but honestly, couldn't he just have inherited coreflame like a normal demigod? He just has to cause trouble for himself, doesn't he. You've done your share of fussing for the bit, he needs to rest but he's shared (unenthusiastically) that he can speak to the titan, that she is a constant in his head now and can even take control periodically. Cerces has yet to speak to you directly, and you wonder if she'll make herself known to you as you're Anaxa's lover? After all, she did have a thing going on with the romance titan- it's a prevalent detail in all the stories- you're not into titan scandals, you swear! You think that maybe if you appease the reason titan she'll give Anaxa less of a hard time. That's how you end up in the Library of Philia, late that night, looking into records of Cerces' personality. It's also how you end up with your nose in a scroll called 'Forbidden Love: The Tree and the Butterfly'.
Your eye catches on a line where Mnestia surprises Cerces and invades her personal space, making the reason Titan blush briefly before composing herself again. It's cute, and reminds you of Anaxa... But a bit later, a man (Thanatos?) points out to Cerces that being romantically involved with a student was perverse, and Cerces prompty slaps him, cutting him off. Now that's a strong reaction. You wonder, could Anaxa react like that? He's more the verbal degrading type, you know for a fact. But that reaction from the titan, it's from anger and maybe embarrassment? After all, she was outright called perverse. You'd never antagonise Anaxa, so you wonder how to spin this to get some fluster... ah, you're neither a student as well.
Your thoughts promptly come to a halt when the scroll is taken from your hands, and the green haired sage eyes it with disdain. You laugh sharply, snatching it back and stashing it away on the shelf, to which Anaxa only folds his arms in disapproval.
"I'm looking into Cerces. Just... In general."
You defend yourself, gesturing to the array of scrolls you have laid out on the table. He follows silently, eye stopping on a paper where you've compiled some findings. "I thought if I appeased her she'll be nicer to you." You continue as Anaxa sits at the table to read with more focus.
"Noting what she likes to give it to her directly? Manipulative."
Anaxa says dryly, almost chiding and not even looking up from your notes. Your mouth opens and closes wordlessly, because he's kind of right, despite you having no ill intentions. And he definitely heard your reaction, because he chuckles softly. He was just teasing, he knows you were trying to help him. But now you're a little ticked off.
You stand behind where he sits, draping your arms around his shoulders, only the back of the chair stopping you from pressing flush against his back. You feel him stiffen, just barely. Languidly now, you run a hand down his arm, just your fingertips really, slow and unrushed, down to his hand where he held your papers. He barely contains a shiver- but you're still not done with him yet. You lean down to drop the words in a whisper right beside his ear, copying his chiding tone from before.
"You're not even pretending to read anymore. Do you want more?"
A gentle stroke on his hand, your nails hardly brushing anymore, but your lips a fraction closer.
"Here in the library? In public? It's unprofessional, Professor..."
He inhales sharply. You're too close, and slapping labels on his reactions to make your own implications. Heat floods his face against his will, specially the ear you just won't leave alone, and he was going to scold you. You remember the scroll you read earlier first.
You get a choke, and he immediately turns to press his hands against your lips, effectively shutting you up. Brows tightly knit, face and ears bright red- it's a nice mix of sharp fluster and bashfulness, and you're all too proud of the reaction you've elicited. And apparently you look it, because he pulls his hands back and scowls at you.
"You put words in my mouth. I never asked for more, especially not here."
"Do you want more elsewhere?"
His eye twitches, and you get flicked in the forehead firmly. At this point you deserve it. You back off with a yelp, covering the spot exaggeratedly while Anaxa huffs and stands up, walking off with a brisk pace.
You gape, scrambling up your papers to chase after him. Unbeknownst to you, the Reason Titan floats along with Anaxa, with an amused smile and satisfied laugh.
Anaxa only clicks his tongue in annoyance.
A/N: I actually misread the Forbidden Love readable from the game and my original idea had to get scrapped halfway through cause it wouldn't make sense.
