I am in my mid-thirties and as such am too busy, stressed, and otherwise tired to engage in fandom drama. Ship and let ship! I am proship and anti-censorship. I am also anti-AI.
When I am not writing Royed fanfic, I spend my time playing minecraft, cuddling with my cats and Mr. Lumifern, and trying out new tea shops. I identify as grace and genderfluid. Any pronouns are fine, although I typically respond to "she" irl. I've got some chronic health issues going on, so I write about that a bit here and there.

I’m not super proud of how this turned out but after 11 hours I finally finished it!! One of these days I’ll get better at drawing environments and backgrounds
Honestly. Honestly Ed vs Scar in episode 5 is striking me fresh, right now. Like by this point we've obviously established we're in a battle shonen by now. We know Ed gets into fights. He's scuffled with Cornello. He's a boy who knows how to hold a sharp object and use it.
But I think FMA does also does an excellent job choosing when to not let Ed come out on top. We just had the Nina episode and now Ed is in the middle of processing his first "catastrophic failure to save someone" type of failure since attempting to bring his mom back. He's dealing with a low that's absolutely hampering his abilities and the tonal shift hits for me in the way that 1) he doesn't notice Scar's initial attack against him (Al has to pull him away) and 2) Ed absolutely freezes up just thinking "This is bad."
This is, perhaps, baby's first "someone is coming at you with the full, concentrated, explicit intention of killing you" and Ed is so genuinely out of his depth with it. He really does try. He gets immediately bested. He's staring at a situation where Al is directly in harm's way. And Ed just lies down to die like a dog...
He does better later. He learns from this, later. But he's so young in this. It just hits.
@caffeinatedsunbear and I were at it again thinking about homunculus al and what we have dubbed his "not al" form (following the "not mom" in fma canon,, what gets made as result of the human transmutation), the form that Dante takes back and nurses back to a "more human" state of being

and flora pointed out that'd be really cool as 3D art of some sort! this is just my basic crack at it but I'd totally love to add more blood or like. better planned cuts/poses/elongation by connection tissue etc
The most basic, intractable fact about mental illnesses is that you simply cannot willpower your way out of them. The only exceptions to this rule are the ones I have, which continue to disable me due to lack of determination and other grave personal flaws
