Sadly it appears that our two other lovely admins have disappeared... I've tried to message them and get them to come chat with me about what we should do about this RP, but neither of them have answered the call.
So... Fear not, I'm not deleting the roleplay entirely. I'm probably just going to reboot it. Since this is such a small RP, we need people who are going to be active. Some people have already explained their hiatus, or given us warning in advance, but some haven't, and I think we've been lenient enough with it.
Meaning, that I'm conducting an activity check! This RP, being as small as it is, needs you to actually be here, and active, and sadly, I've been slacking as well. I'm going to be better about that, and I hope you all will be too. Activity check is happening today, and you have 24 hours to message us either on the OOC, or inbox us that you are still here, and are still in this roleplay. Failure to get a word in with us, and we will, sadly, have to reopen your character.
This may seem a bit harsh, but it's been quite awhile since anyone was on, and we really want to keep this RP alive.
Also, if I don't hear word back from Admin Char or Admin Tay soon, I might end up writing a couple more bios and expanding our family a bit. Not too much that it's crammed and it's busy and it's not as close as this was supposed to be, but just a bit bigger so that if two people aren't online, we're not unable to do anything.

Bonjour all you lovely people you! This is sort of an activity check, but not really since none of you aren't active (which is fantastic). Anywho, the other admins and I have worked out the more minor details. And we've decided that in order to be considered active you have to have a para going, and reply to said para within a week. We understand that paras are harder to answer to quickly and if they're longer, then they take longer to reply to. However, we aren't too hard asses about and we won't right out kick you out, because we love you all and want you to stay forever. So we're still being lenient on that - I hope.
Also, since this is a smaller group and some people may be on when no one else is, we will be making a character development sheet for people to tackle if they so chose. This is in no way mandatory or has to be done. This is just if any of you get bored and would like to explore your character a bit more. This will either be up later tonight or tomorrow.

Why This Character: Well this all started a few days ago when a friend and I were discussing how I wanted to pick up another character. I’ve never played Peter before. I’ve played Dorcas, Lily, Mary, James for a short bit, and even Sirius however I’ve never played Remus or Peter. Peter is an odd character, I feel, a challenge to play. He’s one of those characters that no one really likes to play due to the fact most are biased by his canon story however I find that not to be daunting but instead a challenge. I want to know why Peter Pettigrew ticks. What caused him to betray Lily and James? Was it jealousy? Anger? Fear alone? I want to figure this all out by playing him however most roleplays portray him as this slimeball. The kind of guy all the girls avoid and as if the Marauders only befriended him in pity. However your roleplay does not. Instead Peter is made his own character with both good and bad characteristics. You have an objective outlook on Peter and that really captures my interest. I’m not interested in playing a slimeball who no one ever wants to talk to, but I am interested in playing a real character that clearly goes through a lot emotionally to reach his breaking point during the war. That is why I fell in love with your Peter bio because he is so real.

Obedient: Many refer to him as a lemming, a follower, rather than a man of independence. However most have it wrong Peter is not a follower because of his lack of thoughts, on the contraire Peter is a man full of thoughts, it is because he feels the need to show his loyalty by being obedient to a tee. If Sirius, or James, or Remus asks of him he will do it just for the fact that he feels that he owes them for just being his friend. In Peter’s mind they are doing him a favor by being his friend rather than hanging out with him because they enjoy it. In a way Peter feels he owes everyone in his life and with that he gives them all he can which is his loyalty and his obedience forever trusting in those he holds dear to him.
Empathetic: Peter Pettigrew is truly one of the most understanding people you will ever meet. After seeing the injustices done to his mother and father Peter feels he owes it to them to be sensitive to anyone. Muggleborn, pureblood, halfblood; it does not matter in his eyes. If anyone needs someone to talk to then Peter Pettigrew is their person. He will listen and give his own advice no matter what the subject is on. Even if he truly has no clue how to give advice on the topic he will still try for the point of trying. He doesn’t like to see others, especially those close to him, upset and so therefore he does his best to end their suffering and help them as much as he possibly can.
Envious: Though one might not tell from the outside Peter Pettigrew is one jealous guy. He’s jealous of James for getting Lily Evans and knowing what he wants in life. He’s jealous of Sirius for being so good looking and easy going with the ladies. He’s jealous of Remus who has everything together at all times and never seems to waver under pressure. He’s jealous of every single guy or girl Doe talks to just because they get a second of her attention. Constantly he’s in a state of envy however Peter’s also very good at masking that envy. He shrugs it off like no big deal even if on the inside he’s reeling. He’s very good at staying composed yet it is there and sometimes without trying to the green monster does leek out.
Blunt: This can either be a very good thing or a very bad thing depending on the situation. Peter is not one for flowery words. If he was a poet….he would fail miserably. He tells it just as he sees it and honestly at that. If he thinks someone is a liar he will flat out say it, if he thinks someone is wrong he will say it. Sometimes it winds him up in trouble because not many take well to his way of natural criticism however Peter knows there is no other way for him to say things. He’s not smooth like Sirius, nor is he very good at forming his words properly like James, instead he does things his own way by being brutally honest. Some actually really like his style though because they know no matter what he will tell them the truth and no frills at that.
Quiet: If Peter was allowed he would disappear for days at a time without telling anyone. He easily could hole himself up in his dormitory no problem because Peter actually enjoys being on his own. Don’t get me wrong, he does love his friends and their company more than anything. However he is also very accustomed to being alone, as he grew up as an only child, so he’s not scared of having to be on his own. With that comes his introvert side where he simply will go days without talking and remain in the shadows behind his friends, only fueling the follower comments even further than if he would open his mouth.
Easily-persuaded: Persuasion is Peter’s weakness. All it takes is for a man to be easy with his words and a woman to bat her eyelashes and Peter is putty in their hands. Often you can find him doing other people’s homework just because some pretty blonde asked nicely if he could help her with potions. Peter knows that people use him and every time it happens he swears that it will never happen again, however it always ends up happening even if he tries for it not to happen. He’s terrible at standing up for himself and so often he will do other people’s bidding. The only thing that he will not be persuaded in is trying to get at the Marauders; his loyalty keeps his steady on that subject….for now at least.
Fearful: This is a trait that can fall both ways with Peter. He is fearful at all times that something will happen to his parents or loved ones, fearful enough to be cautious making him one of the safest people to be around. However fearful also can fall the other way making him fearful to the point of impulsive. When Peter gets scared he tends to make rash decisions rather than well thought out ones like he normally would be accustomed to. He would do anything to save his family or friends from pain so therefore in the moment he would do what he thought was best without thinking of consequences to his actions which later can result in him regretting what he had done.
Understated: Peter Pettigrew is one of those people that no one truly thinks about until after the fact. His friends know his true brilliance yet those who are not close with him normally forget he even exists. This works in both good and bad ways with Peter. Good because normally he gets out of trouble with ease due to the fact Professors and others tend to forget he hangs out with the Marauders. That and he also is very good at surprising people with his skills as a wizard for they do not expect much. However this is also a shot at his ego. Peter does enjoy being quiet however he would prefer not to be forgotten. He doesn’t enjoy the fact people often say “Peter who?” or “Oh that other boy” when referring to the Marauders, all he wants is his acceptance.
Biography:
Some children are born with a silver spoon in their mouths while others are born with a wooden; Peter Pettigrew was that of the latter. Born into a family of two hardworking individuals Peter was the light of their lives. His parents loved him more than they loved themselves and growing up Peter never felt anything less than an abundance of love. His mother had prayed for years for her bouncing baby boy to be born, and his father was filled with happiness the day, after years of trying, that they were to have an actual baby. Peter was enough for them and though at a very young age a second child was born the baby was far too sickly to live on this Earth leaving his parents attention solely on him.
If Peter wanted a new toy his parents would save up their pay checks to get it for him, they sent him to the best muggle schools they could afford and never did a day pass that Peter Pettigrew felt like a burden. He made many friends and excelled at reading in his preschool proving to be quite the bright young boy. This only further formed his parents’ opinion that their son was going to be someone remarkable. Only at the age of nine did Peter truly learn the truth about his parents. They weren’t as normal as he thought them to be. Daddy was not just a banker like Mummy claimed and Mummy did not just work at any old store in London; they were wizards. The thought was hard to process in his young mind until they took him one day to Diagon Alley where his eyes were truly opened.
The abuse slung at his father that day caused Peter to see a whole new world, a world that he hated. At learning why his father was so hated in that world Peter held disdain for everything magical. At night he would kneel at his bedside praying to God, like his Mum and Dad had taught him to do, that he would never have to go back to that world and on his eleventh birthday he sobbed inconsolably at the pretty parchment announcing his acceptance to Hogwarts. The following months were difficult because in Peter’s mind the magic world was nothing he wanted in his life. All he wanted was to grow up and become a fireman or a doctor; something safe. However on September 1st he was whisked away in the Hogwarts Express from the only people who truly made him feel safe.
On that very same train was where he met his best friends. Sirius Black and James Potter stumbled into his compartment and asked if they could sit down. With a solemn nod Peter continued to stare out the window until the boyish voices started telling tales of tricks and wonderful things to be done at Hogwarts. Peter was enthralled and soon gave up his silence in favor for chatting with the others. From that day forward Peter Pettigrew was a changed man.
It was in James and Sirius and Remus that he finally found acceptance. James and Sirius were purebloods, related to the ones who tortured his family, yet they barely batted an eyelash at the fact his mother was a squib. Instead they asked how she possibly cleaned and cooked because their mums could only do it with magic. They were interested in such an innocent way that Peter Pettigrew finally felt safe. These boys were not going to hurt him for his parents, but instead embrace him and with that he decided not to let them go.
Every day after that brought a renewed love for the magic world. Set in the most prestigious house in all of Hogwarts and friends with some of the most renowned, Peter soon grew to enjoy the wizarding world finding the muggle world rather dull. He took fantastic classes and met pretty girls who actually seemed interested in him. They didn’t care about who he was they liked him for him which was something Peter never thought he’d see.
His fancies flew from the proper redhead that he soon found out was off limits thanks to James, to the outspoken blonde, to finally the tiny brunette who barely said more than five words at a time in their early meetings. Dorcas Meadowes was the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on and throughout the years of knowing her just being near her became so painful he swore his heart was to burst out of his chest. He was in love with the girl and had no clue what to do.
Hogwarts changed Peter for the better making him truly a man who could be counted upon. Loyalty was his thing and yes many believed him to only be a follower but Peter would take the abuse any day to stay at his friends’ side. They were his family now, a family that he could be proud about. Long days of pranks and schoolwork filled the empty voids harsh words had brought into his life and for the first time in what he could remember being a long time Peter Pettigrew entered his seventh year feeling inexplicably happy.
Key Relationships:
Maria Pettigrew: Peter’s mum. Maria was Peter’s source of light growing up. She loved her child so much and did everything to make him happy. It was through her that Peter gained his compassionate nature. She spent the most time with him and instilled values that had been taken from her when she was young. He is so accepting due to his mother and honestly loves her more than he loves anyone else in his life. He would do anything to protect her even going up against people twice his size in order to keep her name from being slandered.
Edmund Pettigrew: Peter’s father. This is Peter’s hero. Growing up, like most young boys, he found he wanted to be like Superman however after the Diagon Alley experience Peter yearned for nothing more than to be like his father. He watched him take the slander of his own name and then gallantly fight to protect Maria’s name. It was in that moment that Peter realized just how much his father loved both him and his mother, enough to fight for them on a daily basis, and because of that Peter holds more respect for Edmund than he does anyone else in his life.
Dorcas Meadowes: Peter is horribly infatuated with the girl. In his mind the day begins at her beckoning and ends when she turns out her light. It has reached levels that sometimes scare Peter due to the fact he has never felt this way about anyone. One glance causes his heart to race and getting her to smile is the best prize he could ever win. However Peter is paralyzed in fear for what would happen if he was to tell her how he felt. What if she did not return his affections? Surely he would be crushed so instead he has taken to quietly admiring her and continuing to be her friend.
Mary Macdonald: Peter knows Mary doesn’t think much of him. To be honest no one thinks much of him however Peter does think the world of Mary. After her brutal attack he’s constantly on edge around her, not because he feels it was her fault, but because he feels a natural sense of protection towards her. If he could do anything to trade what happened to her then he would because in Peter’s mind no one deserves that. It’s especially hard because his mother was subjected to such cruelty in her life so it breaks Peter’s heart to know Mary went through much the same.
Marlene McKinnon: Another girl who he is certain thinks nothing of him however Peter honestly looks up to Marlene. It’s odd because growing up he only had soft, overly feminine women in his life and Marlene is quite the opposite. She’s a spitfire and a hard ass and he loves it. He feels her to be one of the strongest in the castle. She’s a pureblood yet she never allows other purebloods to slander the names of her friends. Her heart is in the right place and Peter respects her greatly for that.
Lily Evans: Lily is James’ girl in Peter’s mind no matter how the title doesn’t fit quite yet. At one point he harbored a small crush on her for the fact she was very caring however the moment he saw James with her that crush faded. Peter knows how much James cares for Lily because it is the same way that his own father treats his mother. If Peter had one wish it would be for Lily and James to end up together because he knows how well James could take care of her, and it does help that Lily is genuinely nice.
James Potter: Besides his father James is Peter’s biggest hero. He’s the epitome of what a gentleman should be even if others do not see it. James accepted him right off the bat with no questions even after his story was told and Peter feels indebted to him for being his friend. He doesn’t stand for nasty names to be tossed around and has this unwavering sense of bravery that Peter can only hope to have one day. Peter would consider James to be his closest mate just because he feels he can tell him anything.
Remus Lupin: Remus was very hard to win over in Peter’s mind. He was not used to boys like Remus who preferred his quiet to the rambunctious activities of James and Sirius however he cares for Remus the same as he would the other boys. Remus is his friend that when he wants to be quiet they get on great and often Remus helps him with his homework when necessary. After finding out about his lycanthropy Peter’s respect for him only soared through the roof because he knows it takes a strong man to handle something that big.
Sirius Black: If Peter could be one man in the entire world he would choose Sirius Black. Sirius just has this thing about him that makes people love him. The ladies are obsessed with his smirk and it often leaves Peter wondering how in the world he does it. Sirius is just so confident about himself that Peter wishes he could have half as much love for himself as Sirius does. Though it’s hard Peter finds himself wanting to go to Sirius for advice about Doe, he is the best one with the ladies so why wouldn’t he know how to fix his issue?
School Functions: Peter is not one for school functions with the exception of the Herbology club. He only joined that because Doe Meadowes was in the Herbology club and any opportunity to spend a bit of time with her without James, Sirius, and Remus was worth dealing with one of his least favorite subjects. At one point he was part of the dueling club but after an “accident” at the hands of some of the Slytherins Peter decided he would rather risk
Patronus: Peter has only been able to conjure a patronus once. It was fifth year in class and ever since that moment he has tried desperately to recreate that scene. In that brief moment he wasn’t quite sure of the animal but he later figures out that the animal was a rat, the same animal of his animagus. Small, quiet, and normally looked past the rat embodies everything that Peter Pettigrew is viewed as. However the rat is also known for being a fighter, cunning, and at times even vicious also things that Peter is yet no one quite ever sees that side of him.
Boggart: Peter’s boggart tends to change at times. It all depends on his mood when the moment arises. If he has time to think about it then his boggart is normally something fickle like a clown, which is what his classmates have seen. However on one occasion he was surprised by a boggart and it took a very different shape. It took the shape of his parents’ tormentors, namely his maternal grandparents. The ones who tortured his family and treated them like the scum of the Earth that is what he truly fears. He fears that people like them may kill his family; he fears they might harm him someday. Peter fears cruelty the most and that is exactly what his extended family has given him.
Amortentia Scent:
Tea: The scent of tea is a common scent in the halls of Hogwarts however the scent elicited from amortentia is overwhelming. It literally smells like a pot of freshly brewed tea as soon as he takes a whiff which was never easy helping him identify who his scent was possibly for. Every girl, and guy, for the most part drank tea in the castle but Peter surprisingly did not. It was not that he did not enjoy it, it was the fact he had no patience to wait for the drink to cool before drinking it. However the scent was comforting and some nights he would go into the kitchens and make a pot just for the scent. So the smell did make sense it was just the fact that everyone smelt like tea for the most part.
Gardenias: Yet another scent that was common to Hogwarts. Many girls wore perfumes or lotions with a faint hint of gardenias however Peter over the years had been able to narrow it down to which gardenias. It was the gardenias that grew in the greenhouses, not the ones imported so from there he was able to insinuate it was someone who works closely with the plants in the greenhouse. Peter did not want to get his hopes up, however he did take notice that Doe Meadowes was in the herbology club which only fueled the notion in his brain that they were meant to be together. Yet in the same breath he also realizes the club is filled with females any of them being the one the gardenias scent was meant for.
Mint: A cliché ingredient when it comes to amortentia potions. It is a scent in almost any potion for any person just because the scent is so common however once again Peter has narrowed it down to what type of mint. It is not the mint in tooth pastes or gum, not overwhelming, but fresh mint that you get either in the green house or buy from a little packet at the grocer. It’s fresh, clean, and quite a dainty scent unlike its overbearing counterpart which tends to be the most classic scent. Once again it is a comforting scent to Peter and the smallest whiff gives him a smile however unlike the tea the scent is completely related to the amortentia. It reminds him that someone out there is made for him; he just has to find her.

Mary Popps here, speaking on the vicious scandal currently circulating around the Wizarding World. As you are likely aware of, dear readers, Diagon Alley, the main gathering point of Wizarding London, was brutally attacked yesterday afternoon. The shopping center was chalked full of young wizarding families, students of Hogwarts crowding in for the busiest shopping day of the year, trying to obtain all the items on their rather extensive Hogwarts letters.
What had started as a regular day in the hubbub of the shopping craze had taken a turn for the worst as the streets, ringing with the sound of children laughing and catching up with the friends they haven’t seen since summer, soon morphed into screams of terror. The attackers, Death Eaters as they introduce themselves, Apparated in, and began their assault, blowing in the display windows of the popular Wizarding robes store, Madam Malkin’s, then moving on to do the same to Florean-Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor, and the nearby Apothecary. Some of their spells reflected off the wares of Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, and caused a rather violent reaction with some of the ingredients of the Apothecary. Even today, the area has been dubbed too contaminated for any to get within the general vicinity.
Several duels erupted as the parents, and a few of the older, more daring students of Hogwarts, who were crowded into Flourish and Blott’s retaliated, striking back at the attacking Death Eaters. Eventually the men were driven back, and Apparated from the scene before the Auror’s arrived. Auror Potter, Head of the Auror Department, commented that- (continued on page 3).
Prompt: You and your partner, if you are one of the groups, were in Diagon Alley when the attack began. Chaos and destruction ensued. Explosions wracked the buildings, and spells flew everywhere. Plot with one another on what you want to happen, but try to only include your character and your partner’s so as not to interfere with other characters’ plots.
