he’s not afraid. he’s been gone for weeks and now it’s a matter of how ryunosuke would react to that. maybe he didn’t care as much and mind his own business and was happy that the “stupid jinko” has not been around. maybe it didn’t matter either. whatever it would be, atsushi knows that it would be awkward... really awkward.

“uhm...”, he clears his throat when he enters the house, the takes a deep breath before he keeps talking. “i... i am home...”, he says, then gazes at ryunosuke.

with a chuckle, he grabs a strand of her hair and gently plays with it. “you don’t have to ask to stay here”, he says softly. you can stay forever if you want.

The first thing that she notices is that his lips are soft. She didn’t expect someone with a past like hers to be so soft to the touch; he was likened a bit to a plush animal in her mind when she cuddled him. She also noticed the care he put into holding her close, making her feel like she mattered. Like she was the only thing in his world at that moment.

She really loved this man.

It’s a moment before they part, a blush overtaking her pale skin as a smile creased into her cheeks. A moment later, she’s giggling and crying into Atsushi’s shoulder. “T-Took you long enough… Dummy…”

“Dummy…” She chokes out a laugh, forehead bumping against his own. She knew he at least liked her romantically, but for him to say she was in love? It made her heart swell, her eyes tear up. Her free hand came up to join her other on his cheeks, gently tugging his jaw forward so kiss him, softly. Her tears trickled down her cheeks and onto Atsushi’s, a giggle bubbling up in her chest.

“I…I love you, too. My dear tabby cat.”

“r-really?” oh, what a sentiment of happiness. he knows that the answer to this is obvious, it’s just... he can’t believe it himself. it feels like a dream but it’s reality right? 

he returns her kiss and pulls her into a hug. she just made atsushi into a very happy person. he still can’t believe it himself. he smiles and looks at her, rubbing a thumb over her cheeks to wipe her tears away. “hey... don’t cry, okay? i’m here... and i won’t leave you...”

“Why… W-Why are you sorry?”

Her voice is quiet, Lucy’s own blush flaring out of control. Before she even realized it, she had placed a hand on his cheek to carefully guide his head back to facing her directly. Her eyes were soft in their gaze; for a moment, they had nothing but the utmost appreciation glimmering in the look she was giving him. However, that vanished soon after, as her expression turned mildly irritated.

“I-If I didn’t like it I would have said so, stupid…”

oh, there it is. he honestly has no idea what to say. he gently cups his hand over hers, leaning against the touch. “l-listen... it’s... i didn’t know if you wanted it or not...” he wants to tell her how he feels but... it’s just... complicated? not really. it’s just that he never felt like that before, especially towards someone like her. there’s a lot what he feels about her and he really has to tell her now. “l-lucy...”, he says, his face turns red and he closes his eyes. “t-the truth is... i’m in love with you.”

he just so happens to open his eyes as he feels a familiar warmth and scent close to him. the hair that he was looking on was red, a red that he would recognize any time. he heaves a sigh and smiles, then wraps an arm around her to gently pull her closer. 

he really enjoys her closeness and warmth, he never really has expected her to be so soft and nice around him but he likes it. he enjoys it very much. the tiger then leans a bit closer to give her a soft kiss on her lips before he then nuzzles her head.

she’s just too cute.

“are you tired?”, he asks her before he wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her closer to his figure. lucy is always a bit spontaneous, but he never really minded that. he then gently lifts up her chin and swallows, before he comes closer with his face until their lips almost touch each other.

the tiger then gently kisses her lips but pulls away instantly, his face turning red. “a-ah, i’m s-sorry!”
