It had been a long time since an angel had fallen, but the wine-dark seas knew to feel like solid rock upon impact, to froth and boil with the heat of a falling star. They remembered the taste of ichor bleeding out and how it would dilute, glitter swirling into nothingness.

My favorite part of this is the way the ichor and waves look like the Italian marbled paper used as cover linings in books custom-bound for the libraries and collections of the rich. How perfect for Aziraphale.

And what a powerful symbol of how little the Bigger Picture matters to the people drowning and bleeding out in it.
