Shinoa and mitsuba talking about competing for yu's heart makes me feels so bad... like I get that the point is more finding meaning through rivalry rather than actually winning but also... neither of you are even competitors. Like yu is so gone for mika it's not even funny.

We don't talk enough about how weird it must have been for mikayu to reunite after 4 years and how for both of them the version of the other they got was almost opposite from how they remembered eachother.

Yuichiro used to be this angry kid who tried to keep distance between himself and everybody else to protect himself. It was always obvious it was an act but like mika says later, he was so fragile, so scared of being betrayed he'd rather act aloof and grumpy than admit that he cares. To the point that he is only able to say that the hyakuya orphans are his family as mika is dying.

Meanwhile, in the past mika was constantly smiling. He was always reaching out and looking out for the hyakuya orphans. He took it on himself to shoulder the burdens of their circumstances so that the rest of the kids could feel somewhat safe and happy. So he was constantly telling them jokes, smiling and creating a light hearted atmosphere. Of course this is also an act which he admits to as well, Funnily enough this facade drops at the same time as yu's when the other orphans die he becomes openly cold and calculated and he sobs as he dies.

In yu's head mika becomes this symbol, this ideal of family and kindness and what it means to be loved. so with all of that it must have been weird to see vampire mika 4 years later, someone who can't trust anyone, is hostile and cold and distant. So of course yu tries so hard to get mika to like his new family, in his mind if there is one person who would understand its mika! And it makes sense hes frustrated when, for example, mika immidietly despises guren, in his pov this person who taught him about the unconditional love of family is turning back on that because of fear.

And on mika's side, it must have been such a whiplash to see the person who you remeber as being closed off to the point you had to force your way into their side, someone who refused to show his affection and care without anger be so open and friendly. Like just seeing how much yuichiro smiles now must have put him through a loop. Like, no shit mika eventually comes to the conclusion yu doesn't really need him anymore! He looks like he's doing great (minus the expiremantation of course) - which is really funny because yu's smile in the present is as much an act as mika's was!

After the 4 year time skip mikayu took on the other's attitude/coping mechanism to the point they became hard to recognize as the people they were. And I think that's beautiful ❤️ they are truly eachother's perfect mirror image.

Every time I hate a female character in a story I have to ask myself if I hate the female character or do I hate what the author did with the character and I realize 99% of the time it's the latter.

i fucking hate the way kagami writes women because right now,all of the female chars in the manga are either dead,obsessed with a man(like, literally obsessed)/in love with one or sexualized,and some characters are two at once.

like shinoa and mitsuba,shinoa is completely obsessed with yuichiro while mitsuba is in love with him. they're constantly sexualized and shinoa even gropes mitsuba and sexualizes her body,bodyshaming her at some point.

chess and horn,sexualized. like,that licking Crowley's blood scene. it was very uncomfortable.

krul,who was an absolute girlboss and a great character,dead.

sayuri,shigure and mito. sayuri and shigure are in love with guren and constantly blush at him,prioritize him even when they're about to be raped, sayuri's dad even told her that guren might have "needs" at night and she needs to be prepared to satisfy them. as for mito,she legit allowed guren to almost rape her just because she was in love with him. not to mention that she constantly beats goshi when he's watching porn but when guren is said to watch it too and that a boy needs to watch porn,she is fine with it.

i feel like im missing some girls,but i definitely have my point across. he literally cannot write women. they're always objectified one way or other,which disturbs me greatly. i do hope he tries to get better with his character writing and stories because right now they're a little below middle.
