I haven't been active on Tumblr since from over 10 years ago, but VK holds a special place in my heart. Tumblr seems the only place where there's a community / updates for it left. 🤎

I have been on the hunt for more news about the last chapter, and from what I've gathered it will be released on August 5, 2025 for the LaLa DX September issue (according to Hino's blog) which will come with a VK panel bonus. I'm trying to get my hands on the physical copy since I've awaken my passion for this series, but it's so hard to buy things from Japan. <\3 It can be preordered from Animate Japan to get the animate bonus. But the magazine can be bought from cdjapan or Amazonjapan closer to the release date but no bonus???

It's so weird that a series that has been with me for almost 20 years coming to an end, but in all honesty, it ended with the original series with me. I was never a Zeki/Yume ship, I was always a KaZe ship and I will continue to be delusional at the bottom of the ocean for them. 😂

Anyways, I really hope to see more of Kaname in the last chapter. While Kaname and Zero have always been my favorite characters, Zero a little more in my younger years, I've appreciated the character of Kaname more in my adult years. I wished she focused more on him in VKM considering he's always been the favorite of Japanese fans as well as her favorite character. For example , I've been on buyee looking for Kaname centric items and they're always marked up waaaaay more than any other merch. $70 for a clearfile?!!! Anyways, it would've been so much more interesting to see him live his human life separate from Yuuki tbhhhh like we've grown with the characters so much, we just want to see them live their best life frfr.

I really think the plot and drawing has gone downhill, but I will take any crumbs I can get from Hino before everything is officially over )':

REALLY WE ALLLL KNOW THIS BUT makeup trends are soo based in eurocentric beauty standards like contouring literally promotes a certain face shape as the sgtandard of beauty. It feels so misogynistic and fat phobic that one of the biggest makeup trends is based in making the face look skinnier with higher cheekbones and a skinny nose

im just rambling but its so bad to me how the whole Instagram makeup model aesthetic seems to be “vaguely ethnic but not TOO ethnic” with light women ending up 5 shades darker after contouring and black women ending up like 3 shades lighter. White women purposely using fake tan and darker foundation to warm up their skin tone’. using contour shades that are WAYY too warm toned and too dark to contour with. Getting lip injections,using lip plumper, or over lining their lips. stealing fashion and makeup trends from 2000s black girls who’ve been called ghetto for years. Beauty *gurus* who use incredibly expensive, like literally thousands worth of expensive high end makeup. 

every single Instagram high glam makeup look is the fucking same because everybody is trying to imitate this “vaguely ethnic white girl with a black boyfriend” look and its not creative and its getting old.

Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like you are hard to love.

Stay away from people that make you work for their attention. People that only answer texts when you say something interesting enough — or sexual enough. People that only make time for you when they believe you have something to offer them.

Stay away from people that accuse you of overreacting when you’re really just expressing yourself. People that look at you like you should shut up when you tell a story. People that act like they’re superior in every way, like they’re more mature and worldly.

Stay away from people that make you feel unattractive. People that convince you that you look better with your hair straightened and your glasses off. People that you refuse to see, unless you have enough prep time to do your makeup and shave your legs. Stay away from people that you can’t look like your natural self around.

Stay away from people that make you feel guilty about everything that you say and do. People that make you feel like an idiot for getting excited about a concert or an upcoming movie. People that roll their eyes when you get a little loud instead of joining in with you. People that make you feel like your emotions are invalid.

Stay away from people that you feel the need to apologize to, even though you didn’t do anything wrong. You shouldn’t have to say you’re sorry for being too clingy or for asking too many questions or for wearing too much makeup. You shouldn’t have to say you’re sorry for existing.

So stay away from anyone that makes you feel like you’re hard to love. Like it’s an effort to make time for you. An effort to text you back. An effort to listen to your stories. An effort to be around you.

You’re not a burden. You shouldn’t feel out of place when you’re with your partner. Like it’s only a matter of time before they see you for who you really are and escape. You shouldn’t feel like they’re doing you a favor by putting up with you. By lowering their standards to be with you.

Find someone that sees your inner and outer beauty, your core value. Someone that texts you back two seconds after your message sends. Someone that encourages you to talk about your day, even the insignificant bits — because they want to know all about you. They want to hear your voice, hear your story.

Find someone that makes it look like loving you is the easiest thing in the world. Because, for them, it actually is.

They love spending time with you, even if it means spending a little less time with their friends. They love seeing you first thing in the morning, even though your hair is a knotted mess. They love you. No conditions. No exceptions.

A person like that is out there. And they’re worth the long wait.

So please, stay away from people that make you feel like you’re hard to love, because that’s a lie. Loving you is the easiest thing in the world.
