Is there a lore reason why Nyarlathotep didn't say this in the last update of 1966?
Based on this comment
1966 by @1966-if
this is the only thing that can ever be rightfully described as lovecraftian
You can’t just touch a shoggoth holy shit
OMG it’s adorable
“Keziah–!” Carter ran forward, but stopped when a man in golden epaulettes stepped out and thrust a sabre towards his face.
okay which character is ridiculous enough to show up in epaulettes with a fencing sabreHILDRED

Neat cover, I’ve never seen this edition before.
Cthulhu getting hit in the face with a boat will never not be funny to me.
Like, he’s been blown up by pop culture to be this mega-god, some even putting him above Azathoth (the real ‘big bad’, if you could consider him that).
No, you guys.
He literally gets taken out by a dinky little boat.
Fancy up that purple prose all you want, HPL, but octopusbrain gets taken out by a yacht.
right in his bitchass face
Ok true, but remember he was healing up when he dropped out of sight. A yacht to the face stopped him temporarily, I always read that passage as he was fine taking the boat to the face because he didn’t give a f*** and was beyond death, which is kind of scarier to me. A giant madness- inducing star god with a healing factor. F***. The only reason he didn’t get back up and usher in a new age was because the stars weren’t right. It wasn’t his time. He didn’t get taken you, he got stalled for a minute or two. By a boat to the face.
He’s still a pussy little bitch compared to about 90% of the Mythos pantheon.
And this is why Cthulhu isn’t even in Lovely Lovecraft :P
Unless that plotline that I scrapped gets back in but I sincerely doubt it. Hildred is in there, but Cthulhu isn’t.
I am such a rebel.
also omg I have the worst habit like
whenever I meet like-minded people irl I’m just like
“heLLO I AM GAY DID YOU KNOW THAT I AM GAY YES I AM I LIKE ALL GENDERS I AM VERY GAY”
probably because I’m so fucking closeted at work/around family but y’know I wish I could dial it down a touch.
Like just
not mention gayness for five minutes.
conceal the rainbow.
good night I am very tired now
I had never been more happy to be labeled as the ‘token straight’ of any group ~♡ you guys are the most amazing friends I could ever hope to hang around with! Especially in a place like Providence :D DON’T CONCEAL THE RAINBOW Let the existential dread of the cosmos and void of space be filled with rainbows *^*
Edit: whoopsie, my intention was to post this as @tindalosmalakia but something went wrong. Who cares, I’m going to reblog it UwU

To the person in my inbox asking about “The Silent Land” and “The Black Water”: Yes I have, and “Silent Land” has one of my favorite uses of the King in Yellow! However, it's been a while and I'd like to give a proper response, so it's going to be a while before I can properly get to your ask.
Delighted you’ve read them! If you happen to still have your original thoughts I'd be also-delighted to hear them!
Hello, Randy! I’ve been thinking of writing a story that would heavily feature ghouls. I’ve read about the adventures of you and your friend Richard Pickman, and Pickman’s model was one of my favorite stories (although you can’t speak to that one, since you weren’t in it). I had some questions about them, such as; how does one become a ghoul, and can they stop or reverse the transformation? How do ghouls move between the dreamlands and the waking world? And do you think ghouls are misunderstood monsters, or do you hide your horror for your friend’s sake (you don’t have to answer that one if you’d like to keep it to yourself)?
Ah, ghouls! I've had my own curiosities about them, and Pickman has explained a few things to me regarding his transformation. As best I understand it, one becomes a ghoul by consuming the flesh of the dead (a mortifying prospect to me, I admit) and reciting a certain chant in their unholy tongue. Prolonged time in the Dreamlands after this ritual will eventually make its effects permanent, but if one wanted to reverse their transformation they would need to return to the waking world, and avoid graveyards until they are back to normal.
As for how ghouls pass between our world and the Dreamlands, I have a bit of a theory— I believe there are small tears in the fabric of our reality, which anyone could pass through, but which are most commonly used by ghouls and other creatures. I think they are more likely to crop up around graveyards and similar eerie scenes.
Lastly, I do believe we could be a bit kinder to ghouls— they're really quite benevolent once you get to know them! I might be a little biased with Pickman as my friend, but you must admit there are much more nasty monsters in the Dreamlands. The night-gaunts, for instance... oh, I hate to even think of them.
Anyway, I do hope this helped. Best of luck on your story!
