If a headcanon of yours starts with "I want Kevin far away from *insert ship name here*, but..." as If Kevin was an infection or a rabid animal that can only bring evil, maybe you shouldnt be getting anywhere near Kevin.
Somehow this fandom has decided that Kevin being a closeted gay who, after 10 years living in a mafia ran cult, is horrified of his sexuality is a super funny comcept and should be used as a pretext for Andreil/Jerejean to humiliate him and 'mark their territory'.
Because there is nothing funnier than a young gay man, raised in horrible place, being scared of the simple Idea of maybe liking men and being humiliated because of It by the closest people to him, who also happen to be Queer.
I think what makes It even worse is how horrible those headcanons/fanfics make all the other characters sound. Yes, my love, this Queer character, who has faced all sorts of prejudices and hardships for being Queer, is going to look at a friend struggling with his sexuality and either scream, humiliate or make fun of him. Definitely. Makes all sense.
The Idea is gennerally to humiliate Kevin, but It just makes absolutely amazing characters sound like random highchool bullies. Tell me why are Jeremy, Jean, Neil or Andrew acting like generic mean girls????
This has become some sort of trend in this fandom and it is just overall horrible. Some of the things I have already read can quite literally only be described as bullying and, in some cases, even SA (examples: porpusefully making sex as loud as possible with the clear objective of making an unconsenting party hear It, just to show them who your partner belongs to; Humiliating someone for getting hard even though they have no control over It; trying to get an unconsenting party to walk on you and a partner having sex just to again mark territory; etc). But yeah, lets make victims of rape commit forms of sexual assault. Sounds like a very funny way to humiliate Kevin lol.
Honestly, It is ridiculous and triggering in a lot of instances(specially for ppl with trauma related to bullying). The worst part is that It is hard to scape this type of content because they sometimes use the tags for Kandreil or Kerejean or even just tags related to Kevin in general. So you end up stumbling on it even without wanting to.
(And obviously nothing is specifically tagged as bullying, haressement or SA because the people who write those things think It is all hilarious and not problematic at all. So there are no tags one can block to not be exposed to this type of shit)
Honestly tired of opening Tumblr or Ao3 just to get triggered because apparently those things are funny as long as Kevin is the victim.
Maybe It is not Kevin who should stay away from Andreil, Jerejean or whatever other ship. Maybe yall are the ones who should stay away from him.
Dont like him? Dont mention him, forget he exists. It is so much better
