reblog this to remind the person you reblogged it from that theyre loved
I'm gonna give y'all a quick sneak peak into a project I've been working on for a while now, because in the future I want to start posting about its characters and my overall thoughts and progress.
The Work of a Dog Catcher (and other Atrocities)
Folk Horror|Mystery|Dark Americana
This is a story set in rural Colorado set from 1968 to 1970, dealing with religious themes, the aftermaths of war and the ghosts left behind by trauma.
We follow the journey of Duke Galloway, a tabloid journalist who has been tasked with looking into the supposed murder of an old man in the countryside of the Rocky Mountains. But after arriving in the rural small town of Geratty, he soon starts to notice that not everything is as simple as it seems. The only people willing to talk about the old man's death are his grandson the local priest.
But what are those strange noises during the night? Why do people claim that the true murderer was the dead man's pet dog? And why are the animals here behaving in strange ways?
Initially motivated by greed and exploitation, Duke soon finds himself more and more entangled in the town's dark history. He starts to discover truths that have been buried, families that vanished, the tales of a generation born blind, and rumors of a presence that is said to reside in the Old Sawmill. A presence that the people of Geratty call an angel.
Let's see where all that goes. I've had that project on the back burner for a few years now. I wanna use this blog partly as some sort of diary for my work progress. Thanks for reading :))
Also, I'm participating in Art Fight right now and you can find me here. Team Comedy of course, because I am God's funniest jester.
Here are some of my recent attacks. I am using this event to practice my digital shading and honesty, I am quite happy with how much I'm improving right now!
The characters shown belong to AiriTree/@airitree and H0und/@lycanthr0pistt (I hope it's okay I tagged you)

KIM (tentatively) — “When I was ten... I broke a boy’s nose.” - Square Bullets, Round Men (Chapter 1)
Title: the blush of the face starts in the lining of the gut.
Rating: M
Word count: 6.3k
Summary: Kim learned early that shame was a bodily function. It did not begin in the face, where other children could point and laugh and say there, there it is, look at him. It began much lower, in the hot, soft lining of the gut. By the time Dominique Ferrand entered his life, Kim had already mistaken several feelings for discipline— and the first thing Kim felt when Harry Du Bois was kind to him— was dread.
