“Which reminds me,” she bit down on her lip and took another sip of water before looking back at Lydia. “How have you been feeling about… everything? And… I mean, how are you and Nate?” she frowned slightly. “Is everything okay with you two again?”

“Things are better now. A lot better.” Lydia nodded as she leaned on her side. “I think Nate is really starting to forgive me for being the worst human alive now and I’m just hoping we can get back to a the place we were at before I ruined everything.”

“Just, next time you’re in debt…“ Nate made a face, before forcing a smile. “We can rob a bank together if you don’t wanna take my money, okay? Just tell me and we’ll figure it out together, like we always do.“ He said, and his expression softened, and his smile became a bit more genuine. 

“Look, from now on I’m just gonna take your money.” She shrugged, trying to make a joke of things to lighten the mood. “I’m gonna turn into one of those girls just strutting around with her boyfriend’s credit card, buying whatever I want whenever I want. A total diva. Get ready for it.”

jodigibbs‌:

Jodi mouthed “thank you” before taking the bottle back from her friend and taking a few big chugs. “I don’t blame ya,” she laughed slightly before wincing and placing her head in her hands. “Got any Aspirin, nurse sweets?” she watched as the girl walked over to her bathroom to grab her some medicine. “You ever get sick of me?” It was a random question, but one she had been thinking about lately. “I mean, I would be, especially showing up on your doorstep as a sloppy mess.”

Lydia hurried to her medicine cabinet to grab some pain pills for Jodi. When she returned she frowned at the other girls question, finding the idea that she could ever get sick of Jodi ridiculous. “You can show up on my doorstep a sloppy mess for the next 50 years and I’ll still be happy to see you every single time.” She handed Jodie the pillows as she took a seat on the bed. “Besides you’ve been with me through pretty shitty times so it’s the very least I can do in return.”

Jodi half smiled, grabbing the bottle from her friend, attempting to open it, but failing. “Little help?” she asked, waving the bottle slightly. “I wish I could remember,” she mumbled. “I wished you were there though, I remember that much.”

Lydia couldn’t help but laugh a little as she struggled to open the bottle, but after a few moments took it from her and easily removed the lid. “There you go, pretty.” Smiling softly at her words, she laid down beside Jodi. “I wish I was there too. Although I’d like to avoid the awful hangover I’m sure you’re experiencing rght now.”

“Look, I just wanna put the past in the past.“ Nate said, serious, taking her hand into his. “I love you, Lydia. I want to marry you, have kids with you, live a long life with you. If you’re still up for that.“

“Of course I’m still up for that.” Lydia nodded her head a little too enthusiastically. “You’re the love of my life, Nate. I don’t want anybody else.”

jodigibbs‌:

Let’s just say Jodi got hella drunk and is now just laying in Lydia’s bed cause she slept over cause she was too sloppy to go home, ok thx.

Anyway, Jodi looks up at the brunette before groaning and covering her eyes with her arm. “Could you not lecture me right now?”

“Who says I’m lecturing?” Lydia rolled her eyes and handed Jodi a bottle of water. “Drink this. Maybe I just want to hear about what a good time you had.”

“I always enjoy myself when I’m with you.“

“Do you mean that?” She asks to confirm, reluctant to believe him.

"Did you enjoy yourself last night?"

"Are you taking his side against me?

[lydiaajeffries]

“No, of course not! I would never.. I just think you should try to see it from his perspective.”

She made a face. “And what exactly is Nate’s perspective?”

She made a face. “And what exactly is Nate’s perspective?”

“His perspective is similar to yours. You both want the same thing. My happiness.”

"Are you taking his side against me?

“No, of course not! I would never.. I just think you should try to see it from his perspective.”

“But…“ He sighed. “It’s me, you know? And, it’s us.“ Nate glanced at her. “It’s different.“

She shook her head knowing she wouldn’t be able to explain it. “I’m... fucked up. It’s me.”

“I just don’t understand how come you thought ch–“ He couldn’t say the word. “You know– Was better than having me using my savings to pay for your loans.“

“I was just tired of relying on other people for everything.. It’s what I’ve been doing my whole life.”

lydiaajeffries‌:

“You aren’t solely responsible for my well-being, Nate. That’s too much pressure on one person.” 

“I made a promise that I would protect you, and I meant it– And I failed it“ Nate said, sitting down on the edge of their bed, looking very miserable.

“Nate, I make my own choices. You can’t blame yourself for this.” She sighed and stepped closer to him, sitting on the other edge of the bed.

“No, if I had just– Paid for it, you know? Without– Telling you. I mean, sure, we’d have an argument… But it wouldn’t be this argument.“ He shook his head. “I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything to protect you from having to do that.“

“You aren’t solely responsible for my well-being, Nate. That’s too much pressure on one person.”

He sighed, feeling a little bad by how she’d reacted. “Okay.” He said, nodding slowly. He genuiniely believed her - but he had to ask. “I’m sorry, okay?”

“I get it.. I’d ask too. Sorry, i’m just a little on edge lately.” She sighed, glancing down at the carpet. “You don’t have to apologize to me, Nate. I’m the one who messed everything up.”

nate-novak‌:

“There’s just one thing… That I need to know. And be honest with me, okay?“ He turned around to face her, trying his hardest not to break down and cry. “While you were away, studying, did you– I mean– Did you?“

She shook her head, shocked that he would even have to ask. “Of course not, Nate. I told you about the one and only time anything’s ever happened.”

“I…“ He looked away from her and back to the bag he’d been packing. “Don’t know. I mean, yeah. I will.”

“Okay... I’m glad.” She sighed.
