Hey Iâm not sure if anyone is going to see this but Iâm going to tell my story. My whole life Iâve had to deal with abusive and neglectful parents. When I was younger my mom beat me here and there but not anything different from what many african parents do. Things began to change when I was around the age of 8. My mom married and brought a man and his daughter from africa with almost all of her money sacrificing her kids eating and even her home cause we were evicted soon after she started the process. We had to go with very little food and lived in very terrible places. When he finally came to America it was shown to my mom that he didnât truly come for her and he was using her as a gateway to a better life. When this happened a lot of problems arose in the household and my mom became even more broken. When I was around 11 we were finally able to move to the suburbs in a shabby little 3 bedroom apartment full of 9 people but this is when the serious abuse started. My mom was the only person working in the house which put her under a lot of stress. There was a division in my household my mom had come to despise the girl that she brought to America cause she was disrespectful but I felt bad that everyone ganged up on her and would usually try to stand up for her. This caused my mom and my two sisters to despise me and they would find ways to either get me beaten by my mom or make fun of it to me after the fact. Because of this I was the main target and usually the beatings would take place after my mom came home from work and they would be very severe. After years of this I decided that I couldnât live with my parents after highschool and I would have to find a way out. I started working in my junior year as soon I was of legal age but my parents started taking my paychecks and telling me it was for my own good sometimes even beating me to take it. My senior year of highschool I was very excited cause it was finally going to be over and I was going to be graduating with a scholarship that would allow me to go school for free and get enough money back to buy myself a car. But things took a turn for the worst possible outcome when my stepdad graduated college and said that he was going to get a nice job in Connecticut. I begged my mom not to move or at least move after I graduated but she said no and that I could âget another scholarshipâ even though this is one Iâd been working towards since freshman. My mom quit her job and put our lives in the hands of my stepdad someone who had never worked and didnât understand how things really worked in America he moved us to a âniceâ neighborhood that was in the middle of nowhere and impossible to go anywhere without a car so I usually stayed inside my room. Since now my stepdad was the only person with a steady stream of income our lives were in his hands and he said because he was paying the bills he never had enough money to buy groceries so we would go very long times without food. But in reality he was actually sending money to his illegitimate children in Africa and their mothers and it was all a lie. While this was happening my mental health took a severe toll cause I was completely isolated and hopeless and I wasnât sure if I was ever going to be able to leave. I also lost my scholarship cause I left the school district and lost my job which even though my parents were taking most of my check I would a least scrape off 20$ so I wouldnât have to go hungry. I would love to leave this place and I have a plan to Iâm going to be getting my associates in biology in the spring/summer and Iâll be able to move away and get a real job. The only setback is that I donât have a car and I canât get a job where I live. The only place hiring around me is amazon but I canât work there because they give 11h30m shifts that makes it very hard to do my schoolwork. I have a gofundme and Iâm hoping that I could please get some donations so I can finally leave this hellhole and make a home for myself thankyou for taking the time to read this.

Hey guys, Â I am asking for help getting through this month and I desperately need your help to get groceries and keep my water and electricity on. My son and I havenât been able to get enough formula we were declined WIC and Iâve been rationing milk and rice so I really could use help getting food for kahlil.
Iâve been struggling a lot these past few months and I have regularly skipped on eating (often for several days in a row) to try and make ends meet due to losing my job at the salon, I have struggled with bill payments and getting groceries/household supplies with absolutely no income, I could use anyone and everyoneâs help in boosting/donating to my post so that I wonât lose him to social services. I have to have food in the house and utilities turned on by the end of this week or my parental status will be revoked.
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if itâs just $1, it would literally save my life and sharing definitely helps just as much a donations and nobody has to donate if they canât or donât want to, thank you.đ

a 15 year old black girl with ADHD was incarcerated by a judge in michigan because she didnât complete her homework.
grace was put on probation because of charges of assault and theft for âbiting her motherâs finger and pulling her hairâ and stealing another studentâs mobile phone which she later returned. she expressed remorse at her actions multiple times afterwards and participated in therapy sessions and completely stayed out of trouble, her mother and teacher said that she was doing well at school despite the switch to online classes which caused her to become distracted due to her ADHD. she couldnât keep up with her homework and her caseworker filed a violation of probabtion against her without bothering to learn about her disabilty or academic performance. the judge ellen brennan called her a âthreat to the communityâ. all because she didnât complete her fucking homework. sheâs been in the juvenile detention centre for over a month now.
There is a petition to free her, please sign it and if anyone can find any other resources to help her please add them here
UPDATE:
Graceâs case has been dissmissed and her next one is not until SEPTEMBER!!!! THIS IS NOT OKAY! She is a 15 year old girl!
Her family has opened up a gofundme to pay for legal expenses! Please considering donating and/or signal boosting this! Please still sign the petition and check the resources at the bottom of the change.org page on who to contact to help her case!

New Orleans is one of the hardest hit cities in the United States, but I havenât seen that point get much national mainstream media coverage. Furthermore, the racial disparities in access to medical care and healthcare outcomes in general in Louisiana are staggering, and this crisis has made that clearer than ever. This is truly atrocious

this is still ongoing support Black workers!
Last year, The HRC (Human Rights Campaign), reported that in 2019 alone, at least 26 trans and gender nonconforming people were killed in the United States alone. Disproportionately, Black trans people were the victims. Those I have illustrated here, do not even scratch the surface of what is, and should be recognised as, an epidemic. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we do whatever we can to support the black trans community.Â

Watch:Â Poet Porsha Olayiwola heartbreakingly reminds us all that black womenâs lives matter too.Â
âMen and boys are seen as the primary target of racial injustice,â AAPF associate director Rachel Gilmer told TakePart in May. âThis has led to the idea that women and girls of color are not doing as bad, or that weâre not at risk at all.â
But studies show otherwise: Black women are killed and sexually assaulted by the police, and incarcerated at almost three times the rate of their white female counterparts. Yet news coverage of these cases are focused largely on the relationship between law enforcement and black men.
From the linked article above. None of this diminishes the importance of any Black Lives Matter protests or the lives of black men.
Most of the medical research was done on white males and their response to medicine. This is why medical books should only serve as a framework but clinical expertise matters more.
And this is why we need more black doctors.
There is a great instagram called Brown Skin Matters that has certified photos of different rashes and skin conditions. I find this VERY helpful. I just recently stumbled on it and itâs a nice, quick, resource.Â
This is what they mean when they say weâre killing people of color. Our healthcare system caters to white skin. And it needs to change.
