Lu has spent practically every waking moment since school started either next to Carla or texting her. Well, except for the time that Carla spends with Marina, because no thanks. But those instances are getting fewer and farther between, something that doesn't just give Lu a sense of satisfaction – because she's winning – but also a feeling of gooey warmth in her stomach every time Carla says "I can't, I'm hanging out with Lu." That should've been her first sign that she was in trouble.

Sooo this was inspired, among multiple other things, by Danna's April 2024 song Platonik, and her revelation that she wrote it about the woman she had a crush on while she was filming Elite (still not entirely over that lol). Long before that, in February 2022, @lyl-26 and I were chatting about another fic of mine, there goes Princeton. She said she liked Lu and Carla's friendship in it, and that she could see them together romantically as well. At the time I didn't think I could write it, but you definitely planted a seed there, girl 😅 Thanks!

Anyway, this one is close to my heart. It has my usual amounts of angst and drama, but this wlw love story has a happy ending (except for poor Kristen).
