hey guys, really new to tumblr here and way late to the party, here for the memes but might ramble about dnd and other fandoms

a little about me:

-very queer gal (look it’s complicated, all I know is I’m not straight and I’m probably not allo either, as I glance at my one and only crush being a female best friend)

-I am way too into dnd. Like seriously. I’m only in one campaign rn bc two are on hiatus bc. Virus, but it Consumes My Brain at most waking hours

-I have adhd, which prob makes the last post make sense

-I have literally been lurking on this site for years why has it taken me this long to actually make an account

-I do art! I dunno if I’ll post it here tho, drew my pfp, it’s one of my old dnd characters Ashe. Their name is a pun. (EDIT: it is now my Changeling: The Lost character Ander being tired of being perceived. I also drew my banner, which is my current dnd character Ilia sitting on some wild violets in my backyard. For… thematic reasons lol)

-None of my dnd characters are straight. You can generally tell how old my OCs are based on whether or not they are straight and the general ratio of straight people to gay people in the group

-I am posting this at 2:43 my time so I think that speaks for my sleep schedule in and of itself

-I will probably be rambling about silly things in my tags

Was talking to a coworker today who explained that her grandfather was like Snow White “but Californian. And an old man.” in that the creatures of the forest would follow him around and presumably duet with him.

“When he died the ravens sat in the trees outside for a week, watching. Taking turns. A horde of raccoons tried to break into the house every night, tearing at the siding. Eventually they gave up, but it was unsettling.”

“Aww. They were checking on him!” I said, like a normal person. Internally, I thought “Maybe you could do the thing you do with dead pets, where you show them to the living pets so the living pet understands they’re gone. But I guess if you did that to a bunch of scavenging species, they’d be like “Well, that’s very sad but he IS food now.” So what you’d need, for human sensibilities, is some sort of transparent corpse barrier. Like a see-through coffin oh that’s what the dwarves were doing! You’ve stopped paying attention to this conversation about the loss of a beloved family member you gotta phase back in.”
