I'm too much of a sucker for the tragedy of Wicked's ending to take any of this seriously, but the funniest possible fix-it concept is that Glinda just. Does not know. How the fuck. To send this 12yo back to Kansas. Like why the hell would she know how to do that?? Who thought it was a good idea to leave her in charge of this???
And from Dorothy's POV, this is such a funny concept: imagine for a minute that you (a child) wake up in a Fairy-Land, become best friends with a (possibly mentally unstable?) talking scarecrow, and are told by the god-kind that you must go murder his political rival before he'll send go home. Fine. This might as well happen.
And when you return from said murder - which is somehow successful - it turns out the god-king is a fraud and cannot help you. Whoops. Well, how about the OTHER seemingly most powerful person in the country? Ah, no....it turn out she had pretty limited powers in the magic department. And they're mostly bubble-related.
So she takes you (by bubble) to a tiny seaside town on the edge of the map to seek the help of her most powerful friends….the woman you just murdered and your scarecrow best friend who was an accomplice to that murder. And apparently, they’ve all three been dating since undergrad.
I mean, what do you even do with that.
Worse, they can't figure out how to transport you between realms either, and now you're stuck being raised Two and a Half Men style by your murder victim (she got better), your scarecrow BFF (aka your murder victim's situationship), and their girlfriend....the new Pope.
The sitcom practically writes itself.
Could not stop thinking about this… dragged my friend into it… we’re falling down a rabbit hole with this crack concept
CHILCHUCK TOTO HEADCANON ACCEPTED
Okay but I just saw ANOTHER post that said canonically, all animals could talk in Oz, and Dorothy asked Toto in-series "Do you want to talk?" and all that grown-ass man of a dog said was "No." And never spoke again. For the entire series.
Chilchuck!Toto is his own union rep and he is NOT being paid for this.
@tossacointoyourhotmess I need 10 seasons and a movie 🤣🤣
YES!
Plot suggestions: the three co-parents trying to look after Dorthy, protect her from any dangers, and figure out how they’re gonna run the government of Oz now.
Meanwhile Dorothy meets a local farm boy named Tip. The two bond over farm life. Then, after hearing that the scarecrow friend Dorthy has isn’t a real scarecrow at all, Tip suggest they make their own scarecrow friend. And so Jack Pumpkinhead is ‘born’.
Tip ask Dorothy to take their friend back to her home as if the witch Mombi (who had retired from her teaching position at Shiz at the start of Wicked) found out about him she’d destroy their tall pumpkin child. Dorthy would be motivated to save her new friend from the truly wicked witch keeping him captive.
Meanwhile the adults discover the secrets of who ruled Oz before the Wizard had taken over. Learning that the only surviving heir to the thrown, the fated Princess Ozma, had been stolen away and lost as an infant.
But of course the princess isn’t far away, she’s Dorthy’s new friend, Tip, her egg simply hasn’t cracked yet! 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵
Just, a beautiful blend of Wicked, the OG books and the 30’s film.
What’s wrong? I told mommy I wanted to be a princess when I was seven. Now I’m eight.
i saw this somewhere else but reply / tag what you did today so everyone can see that we all did something different today
The lesbian who started Stonewall 🏳️🌈
Stormé DeLarverie was the biracial butch lesbian whose scuffle with the police started the Stonewall Uprising. She's forgotten all too often.
Let's remember her this Pride Month ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Okay, I know this is Superman, but this is kinda the exact vibe of the last prompt I filled, and it's also just plain adorable:

Here's another post about a movie studio violating not just Tree Law, but also Bird Law, in an effort to interfere with a strike.
I thought y'all might like to see Niagara Falls lit up for Pride.
Hope you had a good one!
I will be donating $1 US to an LGBTQIA2S charity at the end of Pride month for each kudos my PRIDE & Prejudice au fic receives. Ch 1 is up and the rest will be posted throughout June.

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
OK, I have redacted my last name and school email address for the Tumblr audience. I will give that information to those who reach out here on Tumblr with inquiries. Essentially, I'm working on my PhD, and for the final element I want to speak with some fans, regardless of their educational background, to see what they think and feel about some Arthurian or Arthurian-adjacent themes and texts.
While I can't compensate anyone for participating, the focus group(s) would be an hour on Zoom. If you message me with interest, I can give you some examples of the kinds of questions I'd be asking, some texts that I might consider, etc.
I've got a small digital footprint these days, so if you know anyone who meets the two qualifications (likes to read fantasy/sci-fi and is queer/LGBTQIA+) please share! It's for a good cause (I'm a year out from submitting my PhD dissertation). This project has been approved by my university's ethics board, and I have informational documents and a consent form for those who will participate. The dates are flexible as of now, I'm hoping for end of June or early July, and after DragonCon (first week of Sept) with a second group.
Thank you!
In today's edition of some distraction from stress, I present:

On Reading
In the 10 years that I have worked on sharing queer history, I have never been attacked as intentionally and with as much consistency as I have in 2026. Most regularly, I'm called a groomer or harassed for mentioning Palestine.
I joke about it to my friends, because I don't actually have anyone in my life under the age of 20, how could I possibly be a groomer? It is easier to cope with all of it when I can laugh with people. No one finds it funny anymore, not even me.
When the first waves came calling me an anti-Semite, I felt compelled to ask some of the Jewish people in my life whether there was something I wasn't seeing. They assured me that I was doing nothing wrong, and I dug further into my studies. The further I got into researching the accusations levied against me, the more I was harassed for the moments I shared of my journey.
As a 29 year old adult, when I share that I read queer (often specifically trans) books, the comments are predictable. When I share that some of the books I read include sex, things get worse. When I post a book that discusses the experiences of queer Jewish people during the holocaust, I know that there will be immediate backlash, and there is. Then I am asked to edit a book synopsis to remove mentions of genocide from a poetry book about Palestine.
All of this to say, I have experience in what upsets these people and it is books that are being targeted. It is reading, readers, and anyone who encourages literacy that activates the worst people to respond. Which is why I HAVE to keep pushing you to read more. Read widely, read anything, read books that disagree with you, read porn, read queerly, read physically, read ebooks, read audiobooks, and fight the book bans sweeping North America.
I need you to know that people get the angriest when I read, so I cannot take my foot of the gas, and I hope this encourages you to go to your library.
