My main fandom is Vanitas no Carte (vanoedomijeanne and Luna brainrot is real). I wrote some meta posts (Vnc timeline, The Devil, the Scientist, and the Most Beautiful Creature, and The lost name) so VnC brainrot in general is also real…
Sometimes I also draw for Pandora Hearts, ORV, Catechism webcomic, BSD or whatever else I like.
Bonus: I have ocs that have no real lore revealed yet, but they’re here to have a good time! Hopefully I’ll do something about them in the future…
Finally I can show my Pandora Hearts artwork. I got the inspiration by @lynnlyrae fanart, so I decided to draw my otp for the first time in nine years.
Disclaimer: Everything I write is just my own interpretation.
So, a little about work. Of course, my dream would be to write a normal analysis, but we'll have some raw ideas. In general in this art I'm trying to show the relationship between Jack and Lacie. All this storm and clouds are there to show that they're both doomed, and so is their relationship. At the same time, the work depicts a tea party, here I wanted to show that characters are trying to communicate as if nothing happens, ignoring the obvious nightmare unfolding right in front of them.
They don't sit together, there is a table between them, and here I wanted to convey that the table acts as a dividing line. Lacie sits slightly closer to the table, leaning forward. She's actually much more interested than Jack in resolving this dividing line between them and truly revealing herself to the person she loves. Jack, on the other hand, sits a little further from the table and leans back in his chair. This shows that he prefers not to cross this symbolic line and is trying to distance himself from any real closeness with Lacie. Both of them look at each other, the table and the food on it do not interest them, but neither of them dares to cross the line that separates them for their own reasons (this is one of the reasons why they are so doomed).
I also don’t know if I managed to convey this, but I tried to make Jack sit more confidently and beautifully, since he is naturally very charismatic and knows how to manipulate people, and Lacie, on the contrary, sits in a less confident pose, plus she is slightly hunched over. Here I wanted to convey that Lacie is actually quite reserved and not very charismatic as a person, and doesn't really know how to connect with others. Like, yes, as a memory and an vision (not sure for this word, I’m not native English speaker), she was very mysterious, interesting, and mesmerising, but the real Lacie, who is just a person, seems to be completely different. Plus here Jack is sitting calm and smiling, because he finally found Lacie and they are near each other, but Lacie is in pain, because she knows that she will die soon, plus she will never be able to muster up the courage and open up to the person she loves (but here I am also not sure if I conveyed the emotions well).
I've been wanting to do something about families for a long time, and a convenient template came to hand (I slightly modernized it for convenience & added more boxes for grandparents and other relatives)
Sirin "Rin" Morgan, an artist, and her brother Finist "Finnie" Morgan, a historical film director; their parents Rita Serebrova, oceanographer, and David Morgan, archaeologist; maternal grandparents Ivan Serebrov and Tamae Kageri, formerly sailor and ame diver, now just enjoying retirement on a house-boat, and great-grandmother Minami Kageri, also a diver and the hero of family legends.
Eirian Enaid Riddell, an antique shop employee; his parents Gwen Gale and Rhys Glynn… they’re like… farmers??…; and three other persons of unknown relation :))
Rachel “Shelly” Kingsley, owner and director of an art gallery; her sister Leah Kingsley, an artist; their parents Eleanor Kingsley, an ex-ballerina who’s currently into show business, and Robert Kingsley, an actor.
Dante Fiorentino, who is constantly changing his occupation; his older sisters June (professional musician), Jill (works in a family restaurant with her husband), and Ada (a DJ), as well as his younger sisters Annie and Katie; their parents Martha and David Fiorentino, a board game developer and a househusband/former music manager, respectively; and their paternal grandfather Enrico Fiorentino, a musician and composer.
been thinking about how his outfit resembles Luna’s clothes and how his regular stupid coat has sleeves like Luna’s coat had and how he wears gloves that look like Luna’s hands to cover up the skin affected by their bite and how he wears their jewelry right where’s its best seen AND HOW HE CARRIES LUNA’S NAME INSTEAD OF HIS OWN
As you can see it drives me ✨a little bit insane✨
(also I’m currently contemplating the idea that he exchanged his original name with Luna somehow but that’s another story)
this bro is like “I will destroy everything that remains of Luna’s memory” (or whatever I’m too lazy to check the quote) and then just
does
THIS
it’s not even funny like he’s actually on the weirdest quest to destroy himself while deluding that it’s about destroying everything left of Luna
like my boy no that’s NOT what you’re doing? THAT’S THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING
or maybe he tries to fulfill their dying wish or something idk either ways this is so not working
Luna’s lingering presence in those little things is so beautiful, and those things are usually good – like it’s not just Luna, it’s Luna’s love that is still there
idk I adore the way their actions impacted SO MUCH, even though they spent only a year with their children. I love them a bit too much I guess…
Also typing all of that out gave me an insanely strong déjà vu (god, what an odd spelling) so idk what to think about it
Anyway, here’s Amara Stark, a fire woman. It’s better not to get on her hot hand. She’s a writer, a traveler and also a Baskerville
(Portrait on the left - Amara at the age of ~30 years, on the right - at the age of about 100 years, and chronologically more like 200)) She’s a GRANDMOTHER🔥
By this venerable age, she had already given up the trademark Baskerville cape as a sign of clan affiliation (she hates those guys tbh), but she had sewn it into a dress. Now she walks around looking like a fashionista💅
Amara is the daughter of a fugitive minor aristocrat from an Eastern country (which June didn't name🥲) and a nouveau riche collector.
She couldn't stay in one place, so she became a traveler who published autobiographical and fictional works based on her adventures. Along the way, she married a publisher and had a daughter. She would have lived in a girlboss x malewife bliss, but she was unlucky. First, she saw a golden light that called her on a journey, and then she accidentally fell into the Abyss. There, she made a contract with the Jubjub bird, a proud Chain that, like Amara, is obsessed with being on an eternal quest for no one knows what.
As soon as she emerged from the Abyss, the Baskervilles explained to her that they were her new family, and it was better for her not to approach the old one, because her very existence would warp the reality and cause trouble for them. And anyway, she's been dead for 15 years. Isn’t it great))
There’s some more lore about Amara’s life at the Baskreville manor, but that’s for later
In the end, Amara survived Sabrie's fall in the worst way imaginable. Everything was so bad that when she came out of the Abyss for the second time, she just gave up on the start. But one day she met a red-eyed girl, Isa, who reminded her very much of her long-dead daughter, and took her under her wing. They met the end and rebirth of the world together.
Also picked up my personal copy today and aaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAaaAaAAAAA I feel SO many emotions about it
it’s my first zine! And I’m actually not disappointed in what I drew even though it’s been month since I finished both pieces and I would’ve done some things differently today. But still I just love how it all turned out!!
