A special landmark for a special woman. It's extremely rare that you come across people who put their everything behind what they aspire for. Just a casual walk with her and you would realize she means business. The more time you spend with her, the more you feel you get intellectually enlightened. And all of this doesn't mean she is unidimensional. U wanna play cricket, she would shatter the stumps typical of Wasim Akram. You wanna watch movie with her, her perspective makes you wonder how you missed it. You wanna have a light banter, she would make it an enjoyable one. I never really consciously tried to decipher her until few weeks back when she herself put it in two simple words: emotions and values. #pattabhiramatemplehampi : one of the lesser visited #temples as it is not in the #tourist area. But it had all the ingredients of a typical #vijayanagara style of #architecture. The #sculptures were as #amazing as #vijayavittalatemplehampi. There is a main #sanctum, a central #hallway adorned with beautifully #sculpted #carvings. A small temple for the #goddess. There were some traces of #granite slabs with which the whole of the temple was apparently paved. There are #yali sculptures on the pillars, a not so huge but proportional #gopura but no #terracota images here. Although we spent hardly about 15 minutes here, it was an absolute worth. Big B bags Dada Saheb Phalke. I always thought Dada Saheb Phalke is awarded only to folks who have dedicated their life to films and did not venture into anything else. And that made sense as legends like MGR, NTR who litey were Gods at their peak for a at least two to three decades were not awarded. It was Vinod Khanna last year and Amitabh this year. Yes, he has been an influencer in the industry for 5 decades but he had his share of controversies as well. Nevertheless, if Vijay Deenanath Chauhan could get a National Award for Agneepath, then yeh bhi ho sakta hai. 😊 He was given the very first Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award in 1991 indicating how everybody had written him off in films and his second innings a few years later was much more eventful than the first. Borrowing from Pandit Nehru, at the stroke of the midnight hour, when India entered its 73rd year of independence, I set out to run an ultra (not necessarily continuous), to complete 73kms before the clock strikes 12 again. An extra spice to the challenge was to run by at least 73 landmarks in Hyderabad. Thanks to @vedayaj for the 'matter of fact' kind of inspiration and @anjur_27 for believing that I can do it despite knowing that I was carrying niggles in knee, ankle and feet. Guess who RAN into me in tye AHM Half marathon trial run. After about 4 to 5 km when I was almost about to stop for a break, Raj passes me and was just the right inspiration for me to finish the race without stopping. This friendship week has been amazing. First visiting my University after 17 years, then meeting up another friend after 13 years. And finally meeting the legendary Babbs @srpalwai after 21 years. There's been a time we would play TT, cricket, party in bakeries and sometimes study too almost every single day for close to two years. And then 21 years have passed, just like that.
