I'll be honest. Aside from having the training and catching of legendary pokémon illegal or locking them away, my biggest priorities are ghost types and psychic types.

Ghost types are the pokémon you usually hear doing severe harm to humans, and psychic types too - they can read our minds and control us at will.

Why are these things allowed to exist?? ans be trained?? is everyone else just blissfully ignorant??

unpopular opinion: it's perfectly fine. as long as you don't use a master ball, the yamask or phantump or whatever wanted to join your party. they're a pokémon now, not a person, and they can make that choice to do pokémon things.

So many Ghost Pokemon were humans before, right? Like Yamask, Honedge, Gengar, etc. Does that mean it's...weird to babytalk them? And treat them like pets??? I mean I love my Gengar and Aegislash and I babytalk them like I do for my other Pokemon but now I'm concerned that's weird and dehumanizing because they were once human—

Well, is it weird to eat a fruit if you believe in reincarnation? Them being "once human" means their souls have been recycled, but not much else. How else would they have hatched from pokemon eggs?

I'd guess that if these species weren't okay with it, they'd probably find a way to vocalise this. Yamask especially, considering they supposedly retain all of their human memories.

Generally I wouldn't worry too much about it.
