Shavambacu - "That was something that me and my ex used to call each other..."
So we know about these 2 videos were Miles says Shavambacu to Alex... 1. 3:54 "I love him..." 4:01 "Shavambacu" - followed by cute giggle from Alex
2. Primavera Sound 2016 1:17 "Shavambacu"
But did we know about this? 26:17 "We wanted to ask about Shavambacu" 26:26 "That was something that me and my ex used to call each other..."
Singer-songwriter Miles Kane joins Sodajerker to discuss songs from his new album Coup De Grace including 'Cry On My Guitar', 'Loaded' and '
Oh and here 27:27 ... If you are not in tears enough yet... The host says "Oh I love that opening guitar riff. It has a kind of French quality to it. I don't know how but it does... " To what Miles says "It's funny you say that actually..." and goes on to say that he wants to do it in FRENCH as a DUET... with a non-disclosed French singer... I rest my case... Went into tears to listen to ghost eyes falling upon his baby doll...
What the fk?!?
A smooth, slowdance-style ballad: detachment, both personal and societal, is explored in a number of ways across the album and “The Ultracheese” has Alex reminiscing about his past, his music and the impact it has had in his life, primarily focusing on a sense of isolation that he feels now living in LA / on the moon as a famous rock star x
“Shavambacu” serves as the album’s enigmatic, dreamlike finale, capping Coup de Grace with a blend of haunting imagery, romantic longing, and linguistic playfulness. Throughout the record, Miles Kane has confronted heartbreak, disconnection, and the struggle for authenticity; here, he ends on a note that’s both tender and surreal. The track feels like a postcard from an emotional borderland, where memory and imagination blur, and language is stretched in attempts to articulate love and loss x
When this song [LA54(309)] was released, Miles posted a clip from the music video and the caption explains basically the whole meaning of the song.
The caption reads:
“This is a spooky intense number that reflects on a reoccurring dream I would have whilst living in LA. I’d be walking down the corridor of a hotel, knock on room 309 and when I would enter I would wake up in a shock. The time would be 3.55 each time!” x

Unnamed Females in SITS
I think that some of us were surprised that after a couple of albums without mentioning any pronouns in songs that Miles included several references to she or her in the Sunlight In The Shadows album.
After many (many) listens, sometimes things just click in my head, so I thought I'd share.
Disclaimer - these are my thoughts only. I have no facts. I don't know Miles to ask if this is the correct interpretation. Please don't show any hate. If you don't like this type of post, please don't read under the cut.
Totally agree on the complexity of Miles' lyricism. I could see the Walk on the Ocean 'she' as spirituality... but also... love, and probably not the conventional kind (reminds me of the afternoon's hat):
"I don't need any reasons" (to feel this kind of love)
"cause I believe it was destiny" (insert here the influence of his newborn spiritualism)
It would be a nice circle to view SITS as a story with LOVE as a cruel experience initially, but absolutely needed in the end 🥹
Another Miles fanart bc I love drawing him!!
I’m still experimenting w my style, bear w me ;D
Miles Kane fanart! Need people to talk about his, Arctic Monkeys and TLSP songs with, I’m tweaking lmao
'Ten Years Later, it's been a decade, coming together in a suitable space'
Could that suitable space be TLSP (a band is more 'suitable' than just Milex)
