it was strange to know the same person twice. robert had done his best over the years ( ever since taking on the mantle — sorry chase ) to avoid and prevent such an occurrence, as that felt like too much of a burden to put on anyone without their allowance. but that would involve finding out the truth, wouldn't it? a 'catch 22' as it were. yet here she stood before him at barely nine am.

robert, this is betty brant, she's a reporter who wants to do a story on the z-team.

mecha man hadn't spoken to betty since that horrible press conference, having basically fallen off the face of the planet not too long after that, robert the dispatcher taking his place for the time being. really, it shouldn't have been such a shock to see her here at sdn, if anything this seemed like something she'd already have covered. maybe blazer thinks the team's finally palatable enough for the public? the thought was amusing enough, he only hoped the team was palatable enough for betty.

the tour of torrance branch had very professionally ended in the breakroom, and miraculously they had managed to avoid most of the z-team. guess they're actually doing their jobs for once. it's oddly quiet in here for once.
