“Teo, chéri!” A kiss to each cheek, and Franny held his arms out for a hug he knew might not come. “Someone has been eating well, good for you!”
Greeting the Frenchman with smile, Teo was quick to return the short kisses, winding his arms around Fran’s middle in a short hug as he always did shortly after. “Hej, tata…” He responded silent, though not lacking in happiness as shown by the smile spread across his features.
“I’ve missed you! How’ve you been?” He beamed, though soon blushing at the other’s comment and casting his eyes downward. “Uhh, yeah… There’s a store only a short walk from Lukas’, so I have easy access to everything I need for Bled cake.” He explained with a short laugh, green, right eyes returning to the other’s face
Perhaps it was just a good day. Perhaps, he was more excited to see the Frenchman than he originally thought; though there was a certain sheen to his gaze. A certain spark and liveliness that hadn’t been there for a long, long time.
“How is Dad? Uhh- other dad- Thomas.” He asked, all too eager to hear all the goods from his recently reconnected favourite couple. “I haven’t heard from him in a while… Texted a few times, but– he’s always so busy.” With a small roll of his shoulders, Teodor pursed his lips tightly, though the smile was still ever present on his face. “I miss him.”
“I’ve been well ! It’s always good to see you,” Franny beamed, switching to French the moment he got sick of English. He dropped another kiss to Teo’s head before letting go of the boy, smiling sweetly down at him. “I’m glad you’re eating well, it’s good to see some meat on those bones of yours.”
“Oh, Thomas ? Yeah, he’s busy... we’ve both been very busy lately.” He paused, pursing his lips and trying not to look too pitying. “We need to have a talk about some things, darling. But I brought some bread, shall we eat first ? I want to hear how you’ve been doing !”

It was only some short minutes later that Thomas was returning with a platter in one hand, and a bottle of wine with two glasses in the other. Setting each of the objects on the coffee table, the Brit dropped down before Franny with a contented sigh; though there was a smile spread across his face all the same. “Hope this is okay, my dear. I’m just– REALLY not in the mood for cooking.” He explained with a short laugh, popping open the wine bottle and pouring both their drinks.
“I appreciate the effort,” Franny laughed, taking his glass and raising it to Tom before taking a sip. Maybe it wasn’t the three course meal he could’ve whipped up for the Brit, but he didn’t need that from Tom. The company they shared, the undoubtable love Franny could see in his eyes, that was all he needed. "We have been all about me so far today. How was your day, my darling?”
one of the things i love about learning a language is how it really makes you question the original intention of your words. i remember ages ago looking up “i’ll still love you” in french to double check and it turns out it’s"je t'aimerai encore" if the love has decreased and might not last, but “je t'aimerai toujours” if you mean you’ll love them forever. and i was just staring at my wall because i genuinely didn’t know which i meant and it all got very emotional. all because french makes a distinction that english doesn’t.
“I learnt from the BEST, after all, honey.” The Brit shot right back, reaching up to card his fingers through the other’s hair. Leaning in, he pressed a final kiss to Franny’s lips before getting to his feet, albeit reluctantly. “I’ll figure something out in there, don’t you worry your pretty little head.” He stated over his shoulder as he walked through to the kitchen, moving about the place as he decided what to make.
“Touche,” Franny laughed, smacking Tom’s arm as he left. God, how he loved that man. While Tom fixed up some dinner, Franny turned on the television and found some talk show, chuckling along and making soft comments to himself in scathing French. He was tired, yawning, but the show helped keep him awake.
“Bread and cheese?” Thomas asked with a soft laugh, ever so slightly leaning into Francois; pushing the other back against the arm of the sofa. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you, my dear, were suggesting grilled cheese sandwiches.” Laughing still as he peppered kisses along the Frenchman’s jaw, Tom was soon sighing contently. “WINE I can do, though.”
"Oh, shush, you!" A soft giggle, and Franny let his eyes slip closed, a content sigh passing over his lips. He was tired, but warm, peckish, but with the promise of food, so longing for touch that even Tom's soft kisses made him swoon. With that gentle touch and honeyed voice, it was impossible for him to not. "In my experience, dearest, you are an expert in whining."
Eyeing the Frenchman for several long moments, Thomas soon sighed. “Fine. Fine. Though, know that I’m not doing this because I WANT too.” He stated, slight tease in his tone as he leaned in once more, pressing another three short kisses to the brunets lips with a smile before pulling back. “Anything in particular suiting your fancy tonight, love? At least give me a base to work off, eh?”
Positively beaming up at his lover, Franny tipped his head to one side and gave a soft hum. "Well. There is cheese in the fridge, bread in the pantry. I'm sure you can figure something out from there," he shrugged lightly. "Make a platter, I don't care. As long as there is wine."
