One of my best friends was force femmed by people In a group chat for linux Tumblr users or something. And I have never seen someone flip like he did. He ended up becoming as transphobic as they come, he has days where he just wishes death on trans people and others where he just wants to be left alone, others he depressed after and talks about how he doesn't know himself anymore.

he ended up compiling all the intel he could on the people in that gc and imo if any of that info would leak out, it would be a day of reckoning. He claims that if he wants, he can bring that entire group to their knees but he can't because it's not the right thing to do.

He sometimes talks about forming a group for people like him who have lost themselves due to forcefem.

The dangerous part is that his other friends know where they all live and have said that if anything goes bad, they will... umm yeah.

Basically bad experiences can change people and that's why they will become that way. And also forcefem isn't funny, cause sometimes it will go too far when the victims realize what has happened.

Obviously I don't know your friend but to me this sounds like what happens when someone who hasn't interrogated their own internalized transmisogyny is in an environment that encourages transfemininity but doesn't meaningfully support the individual. They experiment, dabble, but lack the support needed to tackle and defeat their own bigotry and distrust of transfeminity. Their own bigotry turns them against their sisters and they become insular, angry people who seek some sort of revenge.

This is how you get those weird ex-gay christian men talking about how they were seduced into sodomy and shit. Or anti-kink and straightedge people. This is why tboys fall for terfy rhetoric. Returning to the socially supported status quo will always feel easier than continuing whatever socially unsupported thing you're doing if you haven't fought your own internalized judgement of that thing.

How do I know this? Because it happened to me! I was a young trans girl who was accepted but not supported and eventually detransitioned and developed a hatred for trans women specifically. It's also nearly happened in other aspects of my life, I've had very reactionary phases about kink, and drugs, and sex, and pretty much every other axis of bigotry and judgement like that. Because fighting these things is an ongoing and lifelong process. Deprogramming yourself is hard, trust me I was raised mormon.
