I don't know if you still run this account but after SOOOO long I wanted to ask if you think MacGyver will get saved??
i don’t post anymore, but i saw your ask and didn’t want to be rude and not answer.
honestly, i’m not sure. miracles do happen, but i would of thought by now if any deals or discussions had been made or were in progress of being made there would be rumour articles of a network looking to save the show, like there had been with lucifer, manifest and magnum pi. and since the lawsuit (as far as we know) isn’t in the way anymore, there really isn’t any obstacles standing in the way of macgyver getting saved.
anything is possible. just look at magnum pi, lucifer, manifest, brookyln nine nine, etc, all got saved because fans did an amazing job in being loud and making sure the streaming numbers showed that saving the show was worth putting money into another season. also, criminal minds is getting revived after ending in 2020 because it became one of the most popular/viewed shows of 2021 in the US according to the Nielsen chart, which showed that there was still a demand/love for it. so, i don’t want to be the one to say “macgyver isn’t going to get saved”, because you never know. but in saying that, i think it’s also important to have realistic expectations - some shows get saved, others don’t. it’s harsh and unfair, but it happens. i guess only time will tell (depending on how much longer the fandom is willing to put in time/effort/money into the campaign) which category macgyver will end up in.
