I complain so much that alot of the characters people consider as butch are really only masc presenting or just existing without makeup, but also I think pearl steven universe is butch, she's more butch than vi from that one mobile game show despite appearing more "fem" because she actively fought against dictators that were subjugating her into a role of domestic subservience. the fem ness of her design especially her original home world form can be allegorical for how women are out of the box expected to act in a hyper feminine role. the femness of her design can't be helped because thats her body, but whenever she could she dresses in clothing thats more masc. Butchness is not determined by how well you can fit into a set of aesthetics that is the appetizer to the main course that does with actually embodying the morals and understanding the history of what it means to be butch, which is to break and allow women to exist more than they are allowed to be.
